Good morning everyone, and thank you for joining us here today to mark a
very special occasion in the history of the Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier
International Airport Authority – its 10th anniversary.
Je suis très heureux de compter parmi nous de nombreux membres du
Conseil d’administration de l’Administration de l’aéroport (anciens et
nouveaux) ainsi que la majorité de nos employés et bénévoles, y compris
les
Infoguides
et
les
membres
du
programme
de
surveillance
aéroportuaire.
Founding Chairman David Gavsie could not be with us, but I am pleased to
see Regis Trudel and Claude Bennett, both of whom served as Chairman
of the Board of Directors.
Avant de céder le micro à notre président et ancien président pour qu’ils
nous fassent part de leurs remarques, j’aimerais vous présenter deux
invités très spéciaux à l’événement d’aujourd’hui : Jérémie Giles et Denis
Gagnon.

Jérémie Giles is an accomplished painter and sculptor who began his
artistic career at a very young age. Currently settled in Lakefield, Ontario,
he has held over 50 exhibitions of his work, participated in several group
showings and owned and operated two Art Galleries – in Baie-Comeau and
on the South Shore of Montreal. One of his most recent works, a 3-metre
high sculpture of Samuel de Champlain, was inaugurated in Gatineau,
Quebec in 2004.
L’Atelier du Bronze inc., située a Iverness, Québec est une fonderie d’art
qui se spécialise dans la fonte d’œuvre d’art en bronze et en aluminium.
Fondée en 1989
par
Denis Gagnon, c’est aujourd’hui une entreprise
familiale qui emploie 13 hommes et femmes techniciens-artistes.
Depuis 19 ans l’Atelier a évolué avec sa clientèle de sculpteurs qui
de par leurs œuvres les ont hissés au premier rang des fonderies
d’art au Canada.
Nous souhaitons aussi chaleureusement la bienvenue à Madame
Gagnon, qui accompagne Monsieur Gagnon aujourd’hui.

from both Chairman Peter Vice and Immediate Past Chairman Jim Durrell.
So, without further ado, I invite Peter Vice to say a few words.
