Avec une quinzaine de films et autres projets à son actif, il est deux fois finaliste aux Oscars. Il
remporte de nombreux prix dont cinq prix au Festival de Cannes, huit Génie, le Prix de la Meilleure
Adaptation cinématographique internationale à la Foire du Livre de Francfort, deux prix du National
Board of Review, ainsi que le Prix Douglas Sirk au Festival du film de Hambourg 2010. Reconnu
internationalement comme une personnalité majeure du cinéma canadien, ses œuvres sont primées
à Tokyo, Jérusalem, Reykjavik, Las Palmas, Hongkong, Le Caire ou Athènes.
Internationally recognized as a major talent in Canadian cinema, with fifteen feature films and other
related projects, he won numerous awards, including five prizes at the Festival de Cannes, two
Academy Award nominations, eight Genie Awards, two prizes from the National Board of Review, and
an award for Best International Adaptation at the Frankfurt Book Fair, as well as the 2010 Douglas
Sirk Award from the Hamburg Film Festival, and various honours at events in Tokyo, Jerusalem,
Reykjavik, Las Palmas, Hong Kong, Cairo, or Athens.
