BMW-Motorrad - 0430 - R 1200 RT, K26 11 + 77 43 123 Installing topcase 77 43 556 Equipment trim-level variant: OA Topcase Core activity (-) Install the topcase lock barrel in lock Note Never attempt to remove the key from the lock barrel after it has been removed, because the tumblers would pop out of position. Lubricate the lock barrel. Lubricant Grease for lock cylinders 81 22 9 407 421 Insert latch (1) of the barrel into the lock with the key in the "RELEASE" position and turn the key until the lock barrel engages with an audible click. (-) Opening topcase Turn the key to the "OPEN" position (1). Press the key or lock barrel (2) until locking lever (3) pops out. Pull locking lever (3) up until lid (4) is unlatched. Open the lid. (-) Close the topcase Locking lever (3) must be in the fully open position, in other words all the way up. Close topcase lid (4). Push locking lever (3) down until it engages. Turn the key to the "LOCK" position (5). Close topcase lid (4). Push locking lever (3) down until it engages. Turn the key to the "LOCK" position (5). The case is closed and locked. Turn the key to the "RELEASE" position (1); carry handle (2) pops out. Red markers (3) come into view. Pull carry handle (2) all the way up: this action causes securing hooks (4) to retract. Lower topcase (5) into position on luggage carrier (6). Make sure that hooks (7) engage underneath rails (8) of the luggage carrier. Pivot topcase (5) down so that rubber buffers (9) rest on luggage carrier (6). Push carry handle (2) on topcase (5) down. Warning An inadequately secured topcase can impair road safety. After installing the topcase, always turn the key to the "LOCK" position. Do not exceed the maximum permissible payload and the maximum speed limit.
