La période de qualification officielle s'étend désormais du 01.04.2015 au 09.05.16. Système de qualification Pour prétendre à la qualification pour les 1ers Championnats des Petits Etats d'Europe, tout athlète devra avoir réalisé le minima durant la période de qualification officielle (01.04.2015 au 09.05.2016). La réalisation des seules normes de sélection n'est cependant pas décisive pour une sélection. Pour l'athlète concerné, il s'agira aussi de documenter une préparation sérieuse par une activité régulière sur le plan national et international. Les athlètes sélectionnés, remis de blessure, en méforme manifeste ou cas particulier seront invités à se soumettre à un examen médical approfondi et/ou à un test de performance pour voir leur sélection confirmée. Au cas où plus de deux athlètes auraient réalisé le minima dans la même discipline, la meilleure performance absolue, réalisée dans la période officielle de qualification, sera prise en compte en priorité. En cas d'égalité, les performances réalisées en 2016 (du 01.01.2016 au 09.05.2016) permettront de départager les athlètes. Event format Participation 5. Individual Titles Each selected European Athletics Member Federation may enter up to 2(two) athletes in each individual event provided all of them shall have achieved the qualifying standard, to a maximum of 26 athletes in total (including the relays). Alternatively Member Federations that have in total less than two women and two men, having achieved the qualifying standard in any event, still have the right to participate with up to 4 athletes(two women and two men). The winner of each event shall be declared the “2016 Small States Champion; The winner, second placed and third placed in each event of the programme shall receive gold, silver and bronze medal s respectively. Highest IAAF points award: Men and Women. 6. Team Scoring For first place 8 points, 2nd 7points, 3rd 6points and so on; Only one athlete per country counts in the scoring; The team with the highest score will be declared “The 2016 Team Champions of the Small States 2016“;
