FALL- WINTER 2016-2017 CANSKATE
CanSkate is a dynamic learn-to-skate program that focuses on fun, participation and basic
skill development. Based on Sport Canada’s long term athlete development (LTAD) principles,
CanSkate centers on physical literacy and the fundamental skills needed to take part in any ice
sport or to skate as a recreational activity.

Skills Tests Achievement Recognition – this is what STARSkate is all about!
This program offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure
skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating.

Cours de patinage aux adultes / Adults skating lessons
- Selon le programme de Patinage Canada des leçons de patinage de base
seront dispensées aux adultes désirant apprendre à patiner ou se
perfectionner selon le cas.
Comme le patinage est un sport individuel, chaque adulte peut apprendre et
cheminer à son propre rythme.
Une session de groupe d’une heure par semaine, sera dispensée par un
entraîneur qualifié de Patinage Canada.
En plus du coût de l’inscription pour la session, l’adulte devra défrayer le
temps de glace fourni par l’entraineur en charge des leçons.
- Following Skate Canada program, basic skating lessons will be offered for
adults wishing to learn how to skate or to improve their skating skills.
As skating is an individual sport, each adult can learn at his own pace.
A one hour group session will be offered once a week by a qualified Skate
Canada coach.
In addition to the cost of the registration, the adult will also have to pay the
coah responsible for their individual time on the ice.

Mandatory Fundraising $125 for a booklet of 25 tickets for
each registration with a maximum of one per family,
regardless of home club.
OUR COACHING TEAM
Coaches are responsible for collecting guest skater fees (patch) of $25.00 and to complete and
return the guest form with the fee to a member of the committee. The guest form is available on
the Web site. Please inform by email 48 hours in advance at [email protected]
Our team of Skate Canada Certified Professional Coaches are fun and enthusiastic
individuals who are committed to providing quality skating programs for children. Our
team of skating coaches have many years experience coaching young skaters.

Refund Policy
After the start of the program a refund will only be issued with a written request and
based on the board of executive’s discretion. A 10% administration fee and any
Skate Canada fees will apply.
Waiver
The Hawkesbury Skating Club shall not be responsible for any damage, injury or loss of
property to any member of the Club, guest or visitor taken to the Club premises regardless
of the reason or nature of the damage, loss or injury. Every member, guest or visitor
shall use the Club premises at their own risk.
