• Garantie : 2 ans. Lorsque l’amplificateur opérationnel fonctionne en régime linéaire, alors vd ≅ 0 La loi d’additivité des tensions permet d’écrire: v d(t)+R 1i 1 (t)−R 1 i(t)=0 , ce qui conduit à i 1(t)=i(t) , D’autre part u AB (t)= −v d (t)+R 0 i 1 (t) , c’est-à-dire u AB (t)=R 0 i(t) . Connected in series in an RLC circuit, this device is used to generate oscillations when the circuit is not powered by a generator: we determine the start of the oscillations using a variable resistance (not supplied). The unit has an unbreakable, captive support strut. To be completed by a 12 V mains adaptor Part no. 281 243 and a variable resistance (not supplied). 2 Technical characteristics ENGLISH • Power supply: 12 V mains adaptor • Protection: against short circuits • Overall dimensions: 100 x 100 x 40 mm. • Guarantee: 2 years. 5 Electricity Device for « Sustaining electric oscillations » Ref : 281 103 R1.i(t) 3 Experiments R1 i(t) i(t) A i-(t) i(t) Δ ∞ vd(t) i+(t) + + i1(t) uAB (t) Rest of the circuit R1 i1(t) R1i1(t) R0.i1(t) R0 B For an ideal operational amplifier, the input resistances are almost infinite and so the input currents are almost zero (but not necessarily equal): i+(t) ≅ 0 and i-(t) ≅ 0 . As a result: The same current i(t) flows in the resistance R1 and in the rest of the circuit The same current i1(t) flows in the resistances R1 and R0. When the operational amplifier operates in the linear state, then vd ≅ 0 From the law of additivity of voltages, we can write: v d(t)+R 1i 1 (t)−R 1 i(t)=0 , which leads to i 1(t)=i(t) , On the other hand u AB (t)= −v d (t)+R 0 i 1 (t) , which means u AB (t)=R 0 i(t) . The oscillation-sustaining device is thus equivalent to a power supply unit providing a voltage proportional to the intensity of current it produces. A i(t) Rest of the circuit UAB(t)=R0i (t) B ENGLISH 6 D Electricity Device for « Sustaining electric oscillations » Ref : 281 103 By connecting the previous device D to the R, L, C dipole we obtain: A i(t) R L,r uAB(t) uL,r(t) D uC(t) C B Using the law of additivity of voltages and Ohm’s law, we can write: uAB (t ) = uL,r (t ) + uC (t) + uR (t ) = uL (t) + ur (t) + uC (t ) + uR (t) thus R0 ⋅ i(t) = uL (t ) + uC(t) + (R + r ) ⋅ i(t) or uL (t ) + uC (t ) + (R + r − R0 ) ⋅ i(t) = 0 The power dissipated by the Joule effect in the resistance R and in the resistance r is totally compensated when (R + r − R0 ) = 0 , which means when R + r = R0 . The dipole D acts as a “negative” resistance with a value (- R0) ENGLISH • For very low values of R0, the oscillations cannot be generated because the device D does not provide enough energy. • For very high values of R0, the oscillations are no more sinusoidal. We notice experimentally that they are deformed: The device D provides excess energy. The operational amplifier is in a saturated state ( v d ≠ 0 : working hypothesis). • For R+r = R0 undamped sinusoidal oscillations are generated: these are free sustained oscillations. 7 Electricity Device for « Sustaining electric oscillations » Ref : 281 103 4 After-Sales Service This material is under a two year warranty and should be returned to our stores in the event of any defects.
