La diversité biologique fait la réputation de Madagascar qui est un pays
megadivers mais malheureusement figure parmi les hot spot du globe.
Prospecter la biodiversité (ou bioprospecter), c’est rechercher parmi
le patrimoine biologique existant les ressources génétiques
et biochimiques pouvant avoir une valeur commerciale.
Patrimoine biologique : non seulement les végétaux mais aussi les animaux, les
insectes et les micro-organismes comme les champignons et les
bactéries.
