Thermo LCquan 2.9 Installation Guide This guide describes how to install the Thermo LCquan™ 2.9 secure data quantitation package. If your computer has LCquan version 2.8 or earlier, you must first follow the Upgrading LCquan 2.8 to LCquan 2.9 procedure. System Computer Requirements • 2.4 GHz processor with 4 GB RAM • DVD/CD-ROM drive • Display resolution 1440 × 900 (SXGA) • 297 GB hard drive, NTFS file format Software • Microsoft™ Windows™ 7 Professional with SP1 (32-bit or 64-bit) • Microsoft Office Professional 2010 (32-bit or 64-bit) • Adobe™ Reader™ 9.0 • Thermo Scientific™ software: Foundation™ 3.0 Xcalibur™ 3.0 LC Devices 2.8 DCMSLink™ 2.13 One of the following mass spectrometer (MS) drivers: • TSQ Endura™ 1.0 • TSQ Quantiva™ 1.0 Upgrading LCquan 2.8 to LCquan 2.9 To replace your current LCquan application 1. Before installing the new version of LCquan software, open the Version Info application (C:\Program Files\Thermo\Foundation) to review the version information for your Thermo Scientific software. If the versions meet or exceed the minimum system requirements, go to step 3. Otherwise, continue with step 2. 2. To replace any older Thermo Scientific applications, uninstall the software in the following order: a. LCquan and other layered applications b. LC Devices and other device drivers c. Xcalibur data system d. Foundation platform 3. On the Windows task bar, choose Start > Control Panel > Programs. 4. Insert the LCquan 2.9 CD into the DVD/CD-ROM drive. Start the Thermo Scientific Product Launcher and click Foundation 3.0 to start the installation. b. When prompted, restart the computer and restart the Thermo Scientific Product Launcher. 6. Click Xcalibur 3.0 and, when prompted, install the new version of Xcalibur. 7. Click LCquan 2.9.0 and follow the instructions on the screen. Make sure to select and install all of the features during the installation. 8. Install the appropriate LC and MS device drivers. 9. Open the Thermo Foundation Instrument Configuration window and configure the appropriate LC and MS instruments. Installing LCquan 2.9 for the First Time To install LCquan 2.9 software for the first time 1. Insert the LCquan 2.9 CD into the DVD/CD-ROM drive to start the Thermo Scientific Product Launcher. 2. Click Adobe Reader 9.0 and follow the instructions on the screen. 3. Click Foundation 3.0 and follow the instructions on the screen. 4. When prompted, restart the computer and restart the Thermo Scientific Product Launcher. 5. Click Xcalibur 3.0 and follow the instructions on the screen. When the installation is completed, start the Thermo Scientific Product Launcher. 6. Click LCquan 2.9.0 and follow the instructions on the screen. Make sure to select and install all of the features during the installation. 7. Install the appropriate LC and MS device drivers. 8. Open the Thermo Foundation Instrument Configuration window and configure the appropriate LC and MS instruments.
