Saint Patrick’s Festival.
St. Patrick's Festival is the most important celebration for Ireland's national holiday –
St. Patrick's Day. Around the globe on March, 17th Ireland is celebrated with parties
and parades but the BIGGEST event is in Ireland with five days and nights of the
most fantastic events!
From March 13th to 17th 2008, there will be traditional music, street theatre, family
carnivals, street performances, Irish dance, a treasure hunt, night shows ...
culminating on Monday March 17th with the world’s most famous St. Patrick's Day
Parade. People will dress up in green, drink the most delicious beer in the world and
eat Irish stew with cabbage, corned beef, Saint Patrick’s Day cookies or cheesecake.
For five days, 4000 performers and 1 million people will be celebrating Ireland. So
Ireland is the place to be next March to enjoy Ireland's biggest party.

Lizzy’s recipe for Irish scones
Ingredients
- 1 cup of flour
- ½ Teaspoon of baking powderi
- ¼ pound iiof butter (softened)
- 2 ouncesiii of sugar
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 2 ounces of milk
- Raisins
Method
- Mix the flour and baking powder
- Add the butter
- Add the sugar and mix well.
- Add half the egg and the milk.
- Add the raisins
- Mix well to make a nice dough.
- Knead the dough for 5 mns.
- Cut the dough into rounds.
- Put the scones on a greased baking sheetiv and brush the tops of the scones with the
rest of the egg.
- Bake at 180°/190°C for 15 to 20 mns.
