été découverts à G u a y a q u il sur 1.222 examinés au
laboratoire. Le dernier cas hum ain de peste s’éta it
p ro d u it à G u a y a q u il le 12 octobre.
America : E cuador. — D uring th e first fo rt­
n ight in N ovem ber, 2 plague-infected ra ts were
found a t G u a y a q u il among th e 1,222 ra ts exam ined
a t th e lab o rato ry . The la st hum an case of plague
occurred a t G u a y a q u il on O ctober 12th.

1 fa ta l case of plague was notified a t C olo m b o .

de la dernière semaine du mois d ’octobre, le nom bre
provisoire des cas de peste signalé dans l’Inde a
passé de 313 à 613. De ces 613 cas, 202 ont été
relevés aux Provinces Centrales, 179 dans l’E ta t
d ’H aiderabad, 103 dans le Mysore et 39 dans la
Présidence de Madras.
Au cours de la semaine term inée le 4 décembre,
l’extension de la peste n ’a été signalée que dans
2 districts des Provinces Centrales et dans 1 district
de la Présidence de Madras.

week in October, the provisional num ber of plague
cases notified in India rose from 313 lo 613. Of
these 613 cases, 202 were recorded in th e Central
Provinces, 179 in H yderabad S tate, 103 in Mysore
and 39 in M adras Presidency.
D uring th e week ended December 4th, plague
was reported to be spreading in only 2 districts of
th e Central Provinces and 1 d istric t of Madras
Presidency.

8 th to 20th , 4 plague-infected ra ts were discovered
in H a m a k u a D istric t (H aw aii Island). On N o­
v em b er 17th, th e existence of ro d en t plague was
d em o n strated a t M akaw ao, Omaopio D istric t
(M aui Island), b y in o culation of p roducts from
10 ra ts (see page 584).

Asie : C h i n e . — Le nom bre des cas signalés
à C h a n g - H a i est tom bé de 40 a u cours de la
sem aine term inée le 27 novem bre à 6 la sem aine
suivante. D ix cas o n t été signalés du 5 au 11 dé­
cem bre. D u 22 a o û t a u 11 décem bre, 3.471 cas
avec 690 décès o n t été relevés dans l’ensemble
de l’agglom ération u rbaine, le plus grand nom ­
b re a y a n t été signalé p e n d a n t la sem aine te rm i­
née le 18 septem bre (726).
E ta n t donné le g rand nom bre de réfugiés con­
centrés dans les Concessions étrangères, c’est dans
celles-ci que la p lu p a rt des cas o n t été déclarés.
Des 3.285 cas signalés au 6 novem bre, 1.692
(304 décès) o n t été enregistrés dans la Concession
française, 1.106 (289 décès) dans la Concession
in tern atio n ale et 196 cas (23 décès) seulem ent dans
le « G reater Shanghai ». Les a u tre s 291 cas é ta ie n t
d ’origine inconnue.

N ovem ber 2 7th to 6 th e following week. Ten cases
were notified from D ecem ber 5 th to 11th. F rom

du choléra a été signalée dans 3 districts de la P ré ­
sidence de M adras, dans 2 districts des Provinces
U nies, dans 2 districts du Bengale et dans 1 d istrict
des Provinces Centrales.
