Né suite au parcours d’art contemporain «Paris Je t’Aime», une initiative d’Alexandra Decraene, qui a réussi à fédérer les galeries parisiennes, le projet se déplace aujourd’hui à Bruxelles et devient Brussels
I Love You (BILY). Il prendra place du samedi 13 au samedi 27 février
2016.
Brussels I Love You est un parcours d’art contemporain qui pour sa
première édition compte une vingtaine d’espaces participants dans
les communes d’Ixelles et Saint-Gilles. Ce parcours rapproche d’une
part, le public et les acteurs du marché de l’art, que ce soit les galeries, project spaces, résidences d’artistes et autres initiatives, et d’autre
part il offre une approche à la fois didactique et ludique aux jeunes
amateurs d’art souhaitant mieux appréhender le marché.
Le parcours démarrera le samedi 13 février au Hangar H18 (18 place
du Châtelain, 1050 Bruxelles), avec une exposition présentant Lola
Meotti, jeune artiste de la Smart, l’un de nos partenaires, sélectionnée par le commité Brussels I Love You. Depuis ce point de rendezvous, des visites guidées seront organisées le jour du vernissage permettant de découvrir les participants et leurs expositions.
Pendant les deux semaines, les espaces proposeront différents événements : lancements de livres/signatures, conférences, projections,
performances, lectures, ... qui permettront des interactions entre visiteurs/collectionneurs et espaces d’art/galeries tout en alimentant la
visibilité des expositions.
Fil rouge de notre itinéraire, la création belge recèle d’artistes émer
gents et reconnus internationalement. Cette thématique,
à priori vaste, n’en est pas moins complexe tant il est difficile de classer
un art par rapport à son pays de création. Il ne s’agit pas de parler
uniquement de l’art belge, mais d’étendre à la sensibilité des artistes
néerlandophones et francophones de notre pays, des artistes belges
résidant à l’étranger et ceux qui vivent dans nos frontières, des artistes
belges représentés par des galeries locales ou étrangères. Un parcours
sur notre force nationale, affirmer notre démarche artistique, bousculer
les clivages linguistiques, montrer que l’art fédère. Dévier des représentations conformistes pour jouer sur ce thème en filigrane; démultiplier
la perception de l’art.
Le visiteur suivra une certaine cartographie de l’art contemporain à travers Bruxelles : ce sera pour lui l’occasion de redécouvrir sa ville à travers
des expositions hors des sentiers battus et de s’intégrer dans des rencontres entre passionnés d’art, collectionneurs, professionnels et amateurs, entre œil et création.

Komende van de hedendaagse kunst parcours “Paris je t’aime”, een
initiatief van Alexandra Decraene, die erin slaagde om de Parijse
gale-rien te verenigen, komt het project nu naar Brussel onder de
naam van “Brussels I Love You” (BILY). Het zal van zaterdag 13 tot zaterdag 27 of februari 2016 lopen.
“Brussels I Love You” is een hedendaags kunst parcours die voor zijn
eerste editie, twintig deelnemers plaatsen in de gemeenten Elsene
en Sint-Gillis heeft bijeengebracht. Enerzijds benaderd dit parcours
het publiek en de belanghebbenden in de kunstmarkt, als galerijen
maar ook project ruimten, kunstenaars residenties en andere initiatieven, anderzijds geeft het een tegelijk didactisch en ludieke visie
voor jonge kunst amateurs die beter inzicht willen in de markt.
Het parcours begint op zaterdag 13 of februari bij Hangar H18, met
tentoonstellingen aan Hangar H18 Galerij, met een tentoonstelling
van Lola Meotti, kunstenaar van de Smart, een van onze partners,
door Brussels I Love you commissie uitgekozen.
Vanaf deze “rendez-vous“ (afspraak) punt, zullen rondleidingen in
Elsene en Sint-Gillis worden georganiseerd, om, op zaterdag 13, de
deelnemers en hun tentoonstellingen te ontdekken.
Tijdens de twee weken, voorstellen de ruimten verschillende gebeurtenissen: boekpresentaties/handtekeningen, lezingen, screenings,
performances, lezingen... waarmee interactie tussen bezoekers/kunstverzamelaars en de kunst ruimten/galerijen toevoeren zichtbaarheid tentoonstellingen.
Thema van de route,is Belgische creatie, rijk van opkomende en inter-nationaal erkende kunstenaars. Dit thema, vooraf uitge
breid, is toch complex zowel het moeilijk is om kunst vergelijken met
zijn schepping land te delen. Het komt niet eropaan alleen van Belgische kunst over te spreken maar ook over de sensibiliteit van Nederlandstalige en Franstalige kunstenaars afkomstig van ons land, kunstenaars
die in België wonen, zoals Belgische kunstenaars die in buitenland
wonen uit te breiden. Een parcours dat onze nationale kracht toont
en onze artistieke aanpak bevestigt, taalkundige splitsingen omgooit,
echt bewijs dat kunst verenigt. Onze bedoeling is om conformistische
verklaringen te ontwijken, en op dit thema subtiel, de perceptie van
kunst te sublimeren.
De bezoeker volgt een bepaalde mapping van de hedendaagse kunst
door Brussel: het is een kans voor hem om zijn stad te bewonderen door
middel van een tentoonstelling “out of the box” en in de ontmoetingen
tussen kunstliefhebbers op te nemen, alsmede verzamelaars professionelen en amateurs, informeel te ontdekken.

Contemporary Art Walk
Established in Paris in 2011, the tour of contemporary art “Paris je
t’aime” has been a resounding success both with the general public
and with the participating galleries throughout its past three editions.
This initiative is now relocating to Brussels, presenting an itinerary
that will bring together some twenty galleries and exhibition spaces
in the Louise/Châtelain area, from 13th till 27th February 2016.
“Brussels I Love You” is a contemporary art tour that will gather
around twenty art spaces in the area of Ixelles and Saint Gilles for its
first edition. This art walk brings closer on one side the public and the
art market players as galleries, project spaces, artists residencies and
other initiatives, on the other hand it will offer a didactic and ludic
experience to young art enthusiastic willing to have a better understanding of the market.
The art walk will start on Saturday the 13th of February at Hangar
H18 (18 place du Châtelain, 1050 Brussels), with the exhibition of artist Lola Meotti presented by the tour partner Smart and has been selected by Brussels I Love You comity. From this meeting point, guided
tour will be organised on Saturday 13 of February, allowing the visitors to discover the participants and their exhibitions.
During those two weeks, the spaces will propose different events
such as: book and editions launchings/signings, conferences, projections performances, readings, ... that encourages interactions between visitors/collectors and art spaces/galleries while giving a better visibility to the exhibitions.
Red line of this itinerary is Belgian creation, as Belgium contains so
many emerging as internationally renown artists. This theme, as wide
as it may be is quite complex since it is so difficult to classify art regarding the country where it has been created. It is not only about Belgian
art, but also to extend to the sensibility of French and Flemish speaking
artists of our country, the artists from Belgium living abroad and those
from abroad living in our land, all of these presented in Belgian or foreigners galleries. A tour of our national strength, affirming our artistic
roots, shake the linguistic cleavages and show that art federates. Going
against conformist representations and multiply the perception of art.
The visitor will follow a certain contemporary art mapping through
Brussels: it will be the oportunity to rediscover the city through exhibition and meeting art enthusiastic, collectors, amateurs and professionals, in between eye and creation.
