This amendment is being raised to change the solicitation closing date, distribute bidder questions and
answers and make changes to the specifications.
CLOSING DATE:
The closing date for tender 5P420-16-5057A, titled Lake Louise Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades Banff National Park, is extended from June 2, 2016 until June 7, 2016 at 2:00PM Mountain Daylight Time
(MDT).
NO FURTHER TECHNICAL QUESTIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR THIS TENDER.
A) Questions & Answers
Q10 Will the KSB KRTK 80‐250/46XG‐S IE2 pump be accepted as an approved alternate to the Flygt NP
3102 MT 3~Adaptive 464 pump?

Q11 Will the KSB Amamix C 2925/06 XDG mixer be accepted as an approved alternate to the Flygt
Model 4630 compact mixer?

Q12 Will the Sulzer ABS XFP 100C CB1 pump be accepted as an approved alternate to the Flygt NP
3102 MT 3~Adaptive 464 pump?

Q15 On drawing 3357-M-01 at the Equalization Tank area, there are two Check Valves and two Isolation
(Plug) Valves. Please provide more information regarding their sizes, and provide specifications.
A15 All valves within the equalization tank are 100 mm DN. In reference to DWG 3357-M-01 and
Specification section 01 10 00 clause 1.3.4, replace the two existing check valves and two plug
valves in the equalization tank with an equivalent type. Contractor to match dimensions of existing
valve. For the purpose of cost estimating, refer to the following valve specifications:
Check valve: Flanged to ANSI/ASME B16.1, bronze disc, ANSI/AWWA C508, expoxy coated
inside/outside, iron body bronze mounted (IBBM), swing type gravity operated, 1380 kPa maximum
working pressure. Acceptable products: Mueller A-2600-06BB or approved equivalent.
Plug Valve: Class 150, flanged to ANSI/ASME B16.1, designed to AWWA C517, shaft seals and
plug facing to AWWA C504, ASTM A126 Class B cast iron body and plug, fusion bonded epoxy
inside/outside. Acceptable products: Val-Matic, Dezurik, or approved equivalent.
Q16 Is there an Approved Vendor list for all the Piping, Fittings, Supports, Gaskets, Studs etc materials.
If so please provide the list for all Carbon, PVC, Copper vendor.
A16 There is no Approved Vendor for the referenced materials. Bidders may use any reputable supplier
as long as the materials meet specification section 44 41 32 for process piping.

Q17 Please provide more information regarding the Hose Bibbs and Reduced Pressure Principle
Backflow Preventer.
A17 Hose bibbs by manufacturers such as Mueller, Acorn Engineering or Watts will be acceptable.
Provide a 20 mm isolation valve complete with vacuum breaker. Valve bodies to be type 304 or 316
stainless steel. Provide corrosion resistant rack for hose. Refer to contract drawing 3357-M-05.
Provide reduced pressure principle backflow preventer assembly such as model 994 by Watts
complete with stainless steel body for the main assembly; iron, flanged isolation valves. Size to be
65 mm nominal (smallest in stainless steel). Provide reducers to mate with 50 mm supply and
discharge lines.
Q18 Please clarify the fire rating and gas tight requirement for the self framing building. Kindly confirm if
you only require it for the partition wall?
A18 The one-hour fire rating and gas-tightness requirements are for the partition wall only, as indicated
in specification Section 13 12 70, clause 1.3.5. The process equipment room on one side is a Class
1 Zone 1 area. On the other side of the partition wall, the electrical room is unrated.
Q19 Spec 01 32 18 CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS SCHEDULE, section 1.6 PROJECT MILESTONES.,
item 1 reference to Mobilize and commence work no later than 30 days after the award of Contract.
Please advise what date this Project will be awarded for planning purposes.
A19 Due to the potential lead time on equipment PCA will work with the Contractor to allow the
Contractor to mobilise to site and commence work in a manner that makes sense to the project.
Therefore PCA will relax Specification 01 32 18 Section 1.6.1.
PCA's main goal is to have the new Septage Receiving Station (SRS) in place and commissioned
by end of May 2017.

A license costs $98.10 for Banff National Park and it expires on March 31, 2017.

Remove: Article 1.6.1 – Mobilize and prepare to commence work no later than 30 days after the award
of Contract.
Replace with: Article 1.6.1 - Upon Contract award the Contractor will develop a schedule, with Project
Milestones, set out in order to have the project complete and the SRS commissioned by the end of May
2017.
