of the THERMOTEX - Heating Foil
Connecting copper strip to lead wire
A)
Version with termi-foil connectors
Use only connectors type: AMP No 330 716 "termi-foil"
Procedure:
1. Place the termi-foil connector over the copper strip and press with your
fingers, that it fixed in this position. (It is not necessary to remove the
AMP termi-foil No 330 716
insulation foil from the heating foil.) Then press it into the heating foil
with the termi-foil tool AMP No 69 288-1. (pict. 1)
Mount the termi-foil with the side of crimping eye down to the copper
strip. (flat side up)
2. Remove cable insulation from the cold lead (H07 V-K 1x1,5 mm²) about 10 mm from the end. (pict. 2)
Insert blank end from the lead wire into the crimping eye from the termi-foil and crimp tight the barrel with
AMP crimp tool No 49 935-0 (pict. 3)
3. Check if the connection has a good quality and cover both sides of the termi-foil connection with electric
tape Scotch No 22 or a tape with same quality. (pict. 4)
Attention !
For installations in wet rooms use electric tape with permanent elasticity as Scotch VM-tape or similar.

B)
Version with soldered connection
This type of connection needs to be handled in a workshop. (not at the place of installation)
Take care that the soldering equipment has enough power, to assure that the connection is of best quality and
to avoid "cold solder spots"
Procedure:
1. Start directly at the cut-edge of the heading foil.
Cut (very careful) with a sharp paper - knife through the insulation foil over the copper strip of the heating
foil.
Cut two times in the direction of the copper strip and than crosswise, so that you can remove the insulation
foil with the knife from the copper strip.
The blank copper area should have a length of 8 to 12 mm and a width of 5 to 7 mm. (pict. 2)
2. Remove cable insulation from the cold lead (H07 V-K 1x1,5 mm²) about 10 mm from the end.
3. Tin the blank end from the lead wire and the blank copper strip. Than place the tined end of the lead wire in
the direction of the copper strips on the tined copper and connect the parts by soldering.
4. Check if the connection has a good quality and cover both sides of the termi-foil connection with electric
tape Scotch No 22 or a tape with same quality. (pict. 4)
Attention !
For installations in wet rooms use electric tape with permanent elasticity as Scotch VM-tape or similar.
