Retail Price List
Post budget list, March 2008
This complete list includes some rare wines which are no longer available from the properties. Some of these are
in short supply. As you will see, we specialise in the top wines of southern France, and our list includes wines
from small domaines whose wines are rarely seen outside France. In 2004 we held a blind tasting in London,
with several well known wine journalists amongst the tasters, and including some of these top wines ………..
which came out ahead of wines such as Pétrus, Rayas, Léoville Barton and Chave.
Full details of the tasting can be found on www.wineanorak.com/languedoc_finest.htm
All wines are in 75cl. bottles unless otherwise noted.

Bandol Weekend
At the Hotel Calendal ***, Arles
Friday 17th to Sunday 19th October 2008
An autumn weekend visiting the beautiful vineyard region of Bandol, featuring tastings of some fine
older vintages from top producers. Bandol, on the coast just to the east of Marseille, was one of the first
viticultural regions to receive its Appellation Contrôlée, and today this is one of the most consistent
appellations of France. The main grape variety here is the Mourvèdre, which thrives on the slopes
overlooking the sea. Bandol is undoubtedly the best region in the world to cultivate this world class
variety, which produced reds which age well, as well as the famous pale coloured Bandol Rosé.
Friday 17th October 2008
7.30 p.m.
Reception and Dinner featuring the 1998 vintage – Bandol: Ten Years On
A classic Provencal dinner featuring ten Bandols from the excellent 1998 vintage. We will start with

foothills overlooking the Mediterranean ocean, is the property of the Count of Saint Victor, and has long been
considered one of the finest domaines of the region. Outstanding long lived wines are produced here. Gros Noré,
a comparatively recent domaine, was started in the 1990s by Alain Pascal, a fanatic of the wines of Bandol.
