Adult Faith Education In this presentation, Matthew Leonard focuses on the new idea of love proclaimed by Christ and how it gives meaning to human suffering, penance, and ultimately death. Sounds a bit dark, doesn't it? But it's not! By looking at these issues we'll discover the secret to how we can "Rejoice in the Lord always" just like St. Paul, no matter what happens. St. Philomena lived approximately 1700 years ago and was only discovered in the catacombs of Rome in the early 1800's, her faithful witness as a young virgin who was martyred for her purity and for her fidelity to Christ speaks powerfully to our culture, and especially to young people. Commonly referred to as a "wonder worker", she has the distinction of being the Philomena and what a powerful advocate we have before the throne of Almighty God. The CSE Outreach Team invites you to: Family Holy Hour! Monday, March 3rd, 6:00-7:00pm In the church…Parents and children welcome! Led by music, talks, prayers during Adoration For the whole family! (In lieu of Catechism of that Monday evening) Marriage Tip Marriage is not merely a private institution. Marriage matters for many people beyond the married couple: children, neighbors, and friends. Reflect today on all the lives your marriage has touched. The offender does not have to "earn" as we do not deserve God's forgiveness. The repentance of the offender is not a price to be paid for us to forgive him. 2) Human forgiveness is offered a pardon to the offender. A process of forgiveness is therefore firstly to make forgiveness available to the offender. This approach is totally personal and domestic. It precedes the repentance of the offender. 3) granted forgiveness restores the relationship. Is it not rather that forgiveness believer that we should imitate? Because we do not have to perform as an individual, justice instead of God, society or church. Human Forgiveness means the delivery of a deserved punishment. God's forgiveness is only granted after the execution of the sentence. Because of his justice, God could not show us his benevolence without atonement. It was necessary that God be merciful to us, which required a fair punishment for sin. For there to be reconciliation between God and us, it is not enough that an attitude change ... It was that God exercises his justice. In God's forgiveness, God could not be just (Romans 3:26). God has reconciled us to himself in Christ, not imputing to them their sins (2 Corinthians 5:18-19) While it may be necessary in some cases to sanction misconduct by the discipline of the church or by action justice, we can not consider that human forgiveness must be preceded by a punishment. The offense-sin of others towards me. . I do not have to justify it on the cheap, to trivialize it, to accept it, to forgive unconditionally, including repentance "The danger of forgiveness too cheap is reported in the statement of the Prophet" If you shewed to the wicked, he does not learn righteousness, he gives himself to evil in the land of uprightness, and he has not the majesty of the Lord "Isaiah 26:10 2) The offense-injury concerns me, in my responsibility to decide what I do with this injury Legitimate anger. Will I receive as a passenger or as a host permanent resident who will weave its web of bitterness , hatred, revenge ... Luke 17:3 "If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him." It is true that forgiveness is not holding the guilty innocent, to encourage him in his sin. We must protect also the sin of others. Reconciliation is not necessarily desirable if the person persists in its state of sin. A relationship of love and unity is not possible without conversion of heart. But the inner process of forgiveness is possible. The divine model of forgiveness. God forgive us if we are repentant. No contriton, we remain in our sins, God's wrath against sin remains upon us, we are not reconciled to God and we are deprived of a new relationship with him.
