GENERAL INFORMATION
The Souvenir Georges-Éthier 2016 will be held in accordance with the Rules Manual of Skate Canada. Unless
otherwise specified herein, the normal regulations governing skating will apply as stated in Sections 5000 and 7000
of the Rules Manual of Skate Canada, the Technical Manual, the Event Management Manual, the Policies and
Procedures Manual and the Rules on CPC Manual.

REGISTRATION
Registration must be completed online via www.amilia.com/fpaq. All registrations and payments must be received
at the latest Friday, August 19 2016 at 4:00pm.
The registration fee must be paid online or by check. Any postdated check after August 19, 2016 will not be accepted.

No refund will be authorized after the deadline. It is the skaters’ responsibility to make sure they are eligible for the
category they are registering for.
For refunds made before the deadline, Patinage Québec will deduct from the reimbursement, 5% administration fee
as well as fee related to the online registration.
No change of Group or Category will be made after posting on the Website.

Registration for skaters, officials and coaches will start one hour prior to the start of the events. Registrations are
done on each competition site.
Program content Form must be submitted with a CD when you register at competition site.
COMPETITION SCHEDULE
The schedule will be available on Patinage Québec website. No practices will be offered during the competition.
ACCOMMODATION
Please refer to Patinage Québec’s website at www.patinage.qc.ca for hotel and reservation information under
"Compétitions" / "Compétitions Provinciales".
COACHES CERTIFICATION
Coaches must have the minimum certification of NCCP as primary STARSkate coach (level 1) and meet the
following accreditation standards:
 be a professional coach currently member of Skate Canada;
 hold a valid first aid certificate.

NEW COACHES: new professional coaches who do not meet the criteria for accreditation or above grant, will
have three (3) years to obtain their accreditation as STARSkate primary coach, from the date at which they enroll
as professional coach member of Skate Canada.
Two coaches per competitor will be accredited. Only two people, chosen by the skater or the pair will be admitted
at ice level.
Coaches must register in person and present their VALID photo ID card. Must be worn around the neck at all times.
MUSIC
Each skater or pair must provide two (2) CDR CDs (not CD-RW) when registering at least one (1) hour before the
start of the event. There must be only one program per disc (on a single track) and it must be burned in audio
format, mp3 format will not be accepted. The name of the competitor, the category as well as the exact duration
of the music must be indicated clearly. The discs must be presented in their protective cases. Clean your discs
well and ensure that they are not scratched in order to avoid any problems. For all questions concerning music,

VIDEO
Video orders will be taken directly at the competition site. HFT Communications is on the site.
PHOTO
Photo in action orders will be taken directly at the competition site. Vincent Graton is on the site.
AWARDS
Medals will be awarded to the top three (3) winners for each event in accordance with Regulation 7000 (B) (1.2).
In the event that only two (2) competitors for an event, both competitors will receive an award. No medal will
be given for a demonstration even if the event is judged.

At registration, only the competitor will receive a pass for the week-end. If a skater loses his pass, he will have to
purchase another one at a cost of $15.
Certified coaches according to requirements and member of Skate Canada, will be admitted for free with their
photo ID card (mandatory). They must wear it around their neck at all times.

ACCIDENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Skate Canada, Patinage Québec and the local volunteers’ team, assume no responsibility for any damage or injuries
suffered by skaters. As a condition of and in consideration of their registration, to these Championships, all
competitors and their parents or guardians agree to assume all risks or injuries to the person or damage to the
competitor’s property resulting from the conduct and management of the competition, caused by these
competitions or related thereto and hold any official complaint from officials, the association, the section, the
volunteers team and their management. Registration of skaters will be accepted only under these conditions.
GENERAL RULES
RESULTS
The system Code by Cumulative Points "CPC" will be used to determine the results for all categories.
ELIGIBILITY TO COMPETITIONS
For all categories, the skaters have to be eligible persons according to rules of section 5000 of Skate Canada.
The skaters cannot register in two categories of the same discipline, for example: registering both in Pre-Novice
ladies free and Novice ladies short will not be allowed.
All programs must be combined.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR AGE
The official competitions program includes the changes accepted by Skate Canada following the ISU meeting in
June 2016. Please refer to the document "2016-2017" Pre-event technical package in technical section website
at info.skatecanada.ca.
