Company Description:
First Utility are the first UK utilities company to combine free residential Smart Meters with affordable
dual fuel. Our free Smart Meters automatically read and report your home energy usage meaning that
you no longer receive estimated bills, you are only charged for the gas and electricity that you actually
use.
Due to our cutting edge technology our customer base and company profile are increasing on a daily
basis as we aim to offer residential customers a worthwhile alternative to the ‘big 6’ UK energy
providers.
Affiliate Programme Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for you to promote a utility company that is paving the way forward –
offering free Smart Meters to customers not only makes billing easier and improves energy
consumption; it also puts an end to over-inflated estimated bills.
Our affiliate program is aimed at new customers signing up to one of our 4 following tariffs:
Smart as Standard Dual Fuel
Smart as Standard Electrictity only
iSave Dual Fuel
iSave Fixed Dual fuel
Commissions are reported in real time however commissions will only be confirmed when either the
only or second fuel has gone live. This usually takes approximately 6-8 weeks however in some cases
during the switching process there may be objections/issues that delay the process by several weeks.

affiliates to use.

Search Marketing Promotion Conditions:
Affiliate websites must not mislead customers in anyway, First Utility should be referenced in the third
person where necessary. Any use of the First Utility logo or trademark should at all times be in keeping
with its distinctiveness and should not be amended in any way.
Please note that all applicants must complete the application form themselves. Affiliates may not use
other marketing formats such as, but not limited to, telemarketing or Face to Face canvassing. For the
avoidance of doubt this includes assisted switching in a shop or on their doorstep.
Affiliate sites must contain none of the following content:
• No pornographic content
• No violence or bad language
• No extremist religious content
First Utility have a diligent process in place for the tracking of fraudulent sales made on the affiliate
program, any fraudulent sales made by an affiliate will result in their immediate removal from the First
Utility affiliate program and pending commissions will be cancelled.
All affiliates of the First Utility program must adhere to the guidelines above and comply at all times. Any
activity not in accordance with these will result in removal from the program.
PPC Restrictions:
Pay Per Click promotion is currently allowed on search engines such as Yahoo and Bing however the
following conditions must be adhered to:
All Google Pay Per Click activity is strictly prohibited at this time for both direct and indirect linking.
Non-Google Pay Per Click activity is allowed with the following bidding restrictions:
Bidding on any First Utility related brand name, product name, variation, misspell or brand + generic
search term is strictly prohibited across all search engines. These include but are not limited to:

Smart standard
Bidding on any Smart Meter or iSave related name, variation, misspell or Smart Meter + generic search
term is strictly prohibited across all search engines. These include but are not limited to:

Bidding on any residential utility competitor related brand name, variation, misspell or competitor +
generic search term is strictly prohibited across all search engines. These include but are not limited to:
British Gas
E.ON
Eon
EDF
EDF energy,
NPower
N Power
Scottish Power
Pay Per Click bidding is only acceptable for purely generic utilities related keywords.
All Pay Per Click activity must adhere to the guidelines above and comply at all times. Any activity not in
accordance with these will result in removal from the program.
Email Campaigns:
If affiliates create any email shots they must be reviewed and approved by First Utility prior to sending,
if this does not occur you will not be awarded for sales that are driven. We expect you to abide by the
relevant UK legislation regarding email marketing which requires customer opt into a mailing list.
These terms and conditions are continually being reviewed and may be amended at any time.
