8ème EDITION
Comme pour les éditions précédentes, le 8ème Angkor Photo Festival prend le parti pris de ne pas imposer de
thématique, mais d’inviter le public à découvrir - ou redécouvrir - le travail de photographes internationaux.
Nous avons reçu cette année plus de 1,2oo candidatures de travaux photo en provenance de 67 pays
différents.
13o photographes, dont 6o photographes asiatiques, présenteront leurs travaux dans le cadre du
programme 2o12. Le festival affirme ainsi sa principale mission: la découverte de photographes asiatiques
émergents.
Angkor Photo Festival est un lieu de rencontres, de connexions et d’échanges entre amis professionnels de
la photographie.
Le programme 2o12 de 1o expositions en intérieur et extérieur et de 8 soirées de projections en
extérieur est sélectionné par:
> Françoise Callier, Coordinatrice du Programme pour le Angkor Photo Festival, en collaboration
avec les 9 membres d’un comité international représentant 7 pays.
COMMISSAIRES INVITES
Chaque année, sous la forme d’une « Carte Blanche », le festival offre la programmation de 2 soirées
de projections à deux personnalités de la photographie.

BIOGRAPHIES
FRANÇOISE CALLIER a travaillé pendant 15 ans pour 2e Bureau comme agent de photographes:
Helmut Newton, Jean-Paul Goude ou encore Max Vadukul. Elle est en charge auprès de Sylvie Grumbach
de la promotion presse de Visa pour l’Image à Perpignan, et de 1995 à 1998, elle est également le
correspondant français pour Corbis. Depuis 2oo6, elle est la Coordinatrice du Programme pour le
Angkor Photo Festival.
Eddie Marsman est écrivain, éditeur photo et organisateur de projets vivant à Groningen aux PaysBas. Il a écrit, édité et contribué à la réalisation de nombreux livres sur la photographie néerlandaise
et ses photographes. Un des membres fondateur du Noorderlicht photo festival, et pendant vingt
ans critique photo pour le principal journal national néerlandais NRC Handelsblad, il est actuellement
professeur au département de Groningen de la Fotoacademie, un institut de formation privé pour de
jeunes photographes emergents. eddiemarsman.nl
Marco Wiegers est un photographe indépendant et scénographe vivant à Groningen, Pays-Bas. Il
travaille pour une variété de clients et participe régulièrement à la scénographie des expositions du
Noorderlicht photo festival. Il est professeur de photographie au USVA, une organisation culturelle
affiliée à l’Université de Groningen. marcowiegers.com
MUNEM WASIF est un photographe bangladeshi. Il débute sa carrière en tant que photographe pour les
principaux journaux au Bangladesh. En 2oo7, il participe au Angkor Photo Workshops et est sélectionné
pour le World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass. En 2oo8, il reçoit le prix F25 remis par La Fabrica,
ainsi que le Prix du Jeune Reporter lors du festival Visa pour l’Image. Récemment, il a été désigné par
Photo District News comme l’un des 3o photographes emergents de l’année. Son travail est largement
publié et exposé à travers le monde. Il est aujourd’hui professeur à la Pathshala South Asian Media

photographes professionnels internationaux, les ateliers apportent aux participants un apprentissage
professionel, une visibilité internationale et des conseils de carrière.
Cette année, 38 participants en provenance de toute l’Asie sont sélectionnés sur le mérite de leur portfolio
pour participer aux ateliers !
Comme toujours, le travail produit par chaque participant sera présenté lors de la soirée de clôture du
Angkor Photo Festival, sous forme de projections, le 8 décembre 2o12.

Ateliers photo offerts aux enfants du centre Anjali House
Ces ateliers sont encadrés bénévolement par de jeunes photographes internationaux.
Pendant le festival, les enfants de Anjali House documentent leur vie quotidienne, amis, familles, etc.
Le résultat des ateliers sera présenté pendant le festival lors de la « Journée des enfants » (mercredi 5
décembre)

série d’expositions et projections présentées dans les rues de
Siem Reap et organisée par blindboys.org.
Cette initiative tente d’introduire la photographie dans la vie
