Corporate and Project Finance Consultant
The AfDB’s Energy, Environment and Climate Change Department is being transformed
into the Power, Energy, Climate and Green Growth Complex (PECGG) in the context of
the New Deal on Energy for Africa – under the aegis of which the Bank will significantly
expand the scope and volume of its activities in the energy sector.
ONEC/PECGG is looking for a Corporate and Project Finance Consultant with 5 to 8
years’ experience, especially in investment banking, investment management, social or
economic infrastructure project structuring and in setting up new businesses or
companies, to support the front office of the Vice President for Power, Energy, Climate
and Green Growth Complex as the Bank scales up its engagement in the sector.
Candidates should be perfectly fluent in French and in English for this role.
The work is expected to include:
 Assisting in the definition and implementation of strategic initiatives
 Working with relevant personnel/teams on refining work plans related to the New
Deal on Energy
 Assisting in finalizing the processes required to achieve the outcomes of the
relevant work plans
 Assisting with New Deal related communications and outreach
 Following up on the implementation and deals structuring of the New Deal on
Energy for Africa
 Being very active in the origination, negotiations of deals, investment and jointventure initiatives across Africa
 Assisting in managing relationship with key stakeholders (Board of Directors,
partners, Governments, private sector, NGOs, etc.)
 Being very active in following up on issues and projects to ensure that directives
and requests of the Vice President are executed in a timely and efficient manner
 Undertaking any other tasks that the Vice President may assign
Individual consultants are invited to indicate their interest and availability for this Abidjanbased role which is estimated to be for a period of six (6) months. The start date should
be 12th December 2016. Interested consultants are expected to provide information on
their qualifications and experience demonstrating their ability to undertake this
assignment (CV, documents, reference to similar services, experience in similar

assignments, etc.).
Please note that for the EOI to be considered, the consultant needs to be registered in
the AfDB DACON Consultant Database1.
The eligibility criteria, the establishment of a short list and the selection procedure shall
be in conformity with the Bank’s procedures for the acquisition of consulting services
funded by the administrative budget. Please, note that interest expressed by an individual
does not imply any obligation on the part of the Bank to include him/her in the shortlist.
A shortlist of three to six individual consultants will be established at the end of the request
of expressions of interest. The consultants on the shortlist will be judged on the following
criteria on the basis of their profiles.
