recent films from France and Frenchspeaking countries that you can screen on your campus.
Departments, film clubs, student organizations, and cultural
institutions affiliated with your university may apply under

French Authors on Tour in the US
French Authors on Tour is a program
offered by the Cultural Services of
the French Embassy in the US that
helps American audiences meet
French authors. We welcome you to
read about the authors scheduled to
visit us in the coming months and
the events they have planned. We are
also open to your suggestions for
authors to invite for 2013.
Among the upcoming guests are award-winning children's
author Susie Morgenstern and illustrator François Roca.
If you wish to invite any of these authors to your
institution, school, university or bookstore, please contact
Colombine Depaire for fiction writers or Anne-Sophie

MaFLA members with an opportunity to spend up to three days
in an immersion setting to enhance their language and cultural
skills as well as learn of new pedagogies and connect with
colleagues. Participants can sign up for graduate credits from
Lassell College and earn up to 30 PDP's or 2 graduate credits.

Le Français au Bord de la Mer is a French Immersion experience
for intermediate- to advanced-level high school and college
students, French teachers, and interested adults. Participants
practice French in a rustic camp setting while taking part fun
outdoor and cultural activities.

Rhode Island Roadmap to Language
Excellence
A new Rhode Island Roadmap to Language Excellence lays out a
plan for educating today's children to be fluent in two languages
by the time they enter the adult work force in 2030.
The plan, backed by Rhode Island businesses, grew out of a
government initiative to promote a route to language and
cultural proficiency that begins in pre-kindergarten and
continues through college.
Rhode Island is the sixth state in the country to develop such a
strategic plan.

Jean Renoir's Grand Illusion

The Harvard Film Archive presents Jean
Renoir's Grand Illusion in a 75th
anniversary restoration featuring live
musical accompaniment. This great
classic, set during World War I while
having been produced on the cusp of
World War II, serves both as Renoir's
elegy for European trans-nationalism and
as his tribute to silent-film great Erich
von Stroheim. Please note advance tickets
are unavailable for this film; tickets may
be purchased at the door up to 45 minutes
before the screening.
Dedicated French Kid's TV VOD
Platform Launches in US
Bangoo Planet, a new online VOD
service for French Children's
television programs, is being
launched in the US by Moonscoop.
The advertising-free service will
offer over 400 episodes of youth
programs in rotation each month, including hit series Tootuff
(Titeuf), SamSam, Code Lyoko, Tara Duncan and Chloe's Closet.
