Objectifs
Goals
Within the field of conservation, the development and evaluation of a conservation
intervention
is probably one of the most challenging task. It requires knowledge of the
work of art (original and added materials), of its physical history, of its problems of
deterioration,
as well as knowledge of conservation materials and methods and manual
skills in the application. All this information is compiled and ‘digested’ in the development
of the intervention.

Learning outcomes
Definition of a type of intervention and of its objectives (i.e. cleaning: removal of unwanted
polymeric coating from a lime-based paint layer).
Understanding of how to determine the criteria (performance and working) for the defined
intervention
Capacity of using existing tests to assess performance and working properties
Capacity of designing new tests.

Les enseignants informent les étudiants en début d'année (au plus tard lors de la première
séance de cours) du nombre, de la durée et des critères des évaluations prévues.

La moyenne du module est la moyenne pondérée des unités d’enseignement qui le
compose, au prorata des heures de cours (voir plan d'études).
