class 7 au château de la baudonnière
WEEK 3 · FRIDAY 14 SEPTEMBER 2012

MIND A GAP...
We have now started the process of finding homes for
our new GAP students for the calendar year from January
2013 – thank you to all those who have already come
forward or expressed interest. If you are interested in
hosting a boy or girl from Australia, who will be with us
for a year, please contact me, Ruth Bowley, on 020 8682
8850 or email me at [email protected] for
further information or an informal chat.
MUSICAL NOTES
Music lessons
We currently have a shortage of girls learning the trumpet,
cello, oboe or guitar. If your daughter would like to try one
of these instruments we are offering free trial lessons.
Please get in touch if this interests you.
Adult Choir
Calling all singers! I am starting a Northwood Choral
Society which is for all parents, staff and friends of
Broomwood Hall and Northcote Lodge. We will rehearse
on Tuesday evenings in the US Hall 7.00-9.00 (starting
Tuesday 25 September) The choir will sing at the
Carol Service and occasional Evensongs and, once
established, I hope we will perform choral works such
as Fauré’s ‘Requiem’ etc. Please get in touch if you
might be interested in this. My email is a.watson@
northwoodschools.com.
Ms Andrea Watson – Director of Music
WRISTBAND WINNER
Georgina Knapman (Class 5N) is a worthy winner of the
Ethiopia wristband competition. Miss Mardon feels that
Georgina’s slogan ‘Two Schools – One Mission’ really
sums up everything we are trying to do. Miss Mardon and
Mrs Rawlence will be looking out for a sprecial prize for
Georgina on their trip to Ethiopia in October.

Class 6A & 7A netball tour to Malta departs
When we got there we
walked to Juniper Hall
Field Studies Centre
and met our tutors
for the day. We then
went to classrooms
to learn a bit more
about Box Hill before
going to Burford
Spur to conduct our
experiments and
surveys. Despite the constant on-andoff rain and not being able to see the
Olympic rings up anymore, we all had
so much fun and would love to go
again. We are now busy writing up our
projects back at school.
