The passive voice (simple present) (Red Line 4, Unit 4) Red Line Grammar >> Look at the grammar rules on page 140 of your book if you need help. 1 How things are made Before big projects like the International Space Station are built, people have to complete different smaller projects. They make it possible for people to go into space. Put the ideas together to say what is done. (We don’t need to know who does it). Example: (money • give • for project) Money is given for the project. 1. (new team of scientists • find) 2. (rocket • design) 3. (new devices • invent) 4. (space suits • test) 5. (astronauts • train for work • in zero gravity) 6. (virtual reality equipment • use for practice) 7. (all equipment for space • check) 8. (astronaut team • choose) p 2 What is it? Tell your partner how something is done. Your partner must guess what it is. Use one of the ideas below, or think of something different. Example: First of all lines are painted on a field. Then things like gates with nets in them are put up at each end. After that two groups of eleven people are chosen. A round thing is brought to the field and it is kicked by the people. Can you guess what it is?
