Swiss Metal and Watch Workers' Union (SMUV), Basel ($12,000),1986-87.
The project's purpose was to learn more about member contacts to union officials and
committees, and about members' priorities in regards to union policy, services, and
educational programs. A 25-item questionnaire was mailed to the entire union

Urban Planning Department, Basel, Switzerland ($2,500), 1985.
The project dealt with ways in which bicycle traffic can be made compatible, if at all,
with pedestrians’ right to freely move about in recreational parks. Data collection
through participant observation and interviews. Report available.
Urban Planning Department, Basel, Switzerland ($4,000),1983-84.
The project evaluated the city's pilot projects to reduce traffic in residential areas. A
questionnaire was mailed to all households affected (same 1,000), and a sample of
traffic participants was interviewed. Report available.

The project evaluated therapeutic communities for drug addicts in the canton of Bern.
Data collection through participant observation, interviews and organizational analysis.

The project evaluated the city's play street pilot projects. Some 400 randomly selected
individuals were interviewed on the basis of a 50-item questionnaire containing open
and closed questions. Additional data was obtained through participant observation.
