Les aéroports de Paris accès,

France has an extensive air traffic network with
multiple connection possibilities between national
and international destinations. The two main airports
in the capital, Paris-Charles de Gaulle in Roissy and
Paris-Orly, serve 500 cities in 132 countries. Both
airports are run by Aéroports de Paris (ADP) which
operates 14 airports and heliports in the Paris area.
Paris is second in the world in terms of the number
of international flights. Its airports accomodate 69
million passengers and over a million tons of merchandise per year.
Major regional airports include Bordeaux-Mérignac,
Lille-Lesquin, Lyon-Saint Exupery, MarseillesProvence, Montpellier-Méditerranée, Bâle-Mulhouse,
Nantes-Atlantique, Nice-Côte d’Azur, Strasbourg and
Toulouse-Blagnac.
Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Lyon-Saint Exupery and LilleLesquin are linked by the TGV train network to the
whole of Europe.
The largest national airline is Air France (the 10th
largest airline in the world).

Le réseau aérien est particulièrement dense, avec
de multiples possibilités de connexions intérieures
et internationales. Les deux principaux aéroports
de Paris, Paris-Charles de Gaulle à Roissy et ParisOrly, desservent 500 villes dans 132 pays. Ces deux
aéroports sont sous le contrôle de Aéroports de Paris
(ADP) qui gère 14 aéroports et héliports en région
parisienne. Paris occupe la deuxième place mondiale
pour le nombre de vols internationaux. Ses aéroports
accueillent 69 millions de passagers et plus d’un
million de tonnes de marchandises par an. BordeauxMérignac, Lille-Lesquin, Lyon-Saint Exupery, MarseilleProvence, Montpellier-Méditerranée, Bâle-Mulhouse,
Nantes-Atlantique, Nice-Côte-d’Azur, Strasbourg et
Toulouse-Blagnac sont les plus importants aéroports de

The Shuttle (Channel Tunnel)

France’s railway system is one of the most efficient
in Europe due both to the extent of its network and
the quality of its trains and high speed trains. The
Trains à Grande Vitesse (TGV) can travel at up to 185
miles per hour.
How to shoot in trains, in stations?
The Channel Tunnel is 32 miles long and links Calais
in France to Folkestone in England. The Channel is
crossed in 35 minutes by shuttle trains which depart
up to 4 times an hour depending on the season, and
carry cars as well as passengers.

Eurostar (Paris-London-Brussels by TGV)
Baptised the Eurostar, this high speed train (TGV)
travels through the Channel Tunnel, linking Paris
to London in 2h20. It also makes trips from London
to Calais (1h), London to Brussels (2h) and Lille
to Brussels (38 min). Trains depart every hour on
weekdays, providing an average of 14 connections
per day between Paris and London.

Eurostar (Paris-Londres-Bruxelles en TGV)
Baptisé Eurostar, ce TGV emprunte le tunnel sous
la Manche et met Londres à 3 heures de Paris et à 2
heures de Lille. Il relie également Londres et Calais en
1h40, Londres et Bruxelles en 3h15, Lille et Bruxelles
en 38 mn. La fréquence des départs est d’un train
toutes les heures en semaine, soit en moyenne 14
trajets Paris-Londres par jour.

responsible for 80% of freight cargo.
• National interest ports (25)
The commercial and technical use of these ports
is supervised by the Chambers of Commerce and
Industry (CCI).
• Decentralised ports (commercial, fishing
and leisure ports)
• Commerce and fishing (approx 300)
These are under the responsibility of the Chambers
of Commerce and Industry.
• Leisure ports (approx 200) These rely on individual
communities for maintenance and administration.

4.1
General rules of road use
Règles générales de conduite
• A driving license authorises the holder to drive a
car or van weighing up to 3 tons, or a motorbike not
exceeding 125cc in power.
• Visitors are permitted to drive in France with their
own driving license, but an international driving
license is recommended. The international driving
license must be obtained from local authorities in
the country of origin.
• Seatbelts are compulsory for the driver and all
passengers. Children from 3-11 years of age must
sit in approved seats in the rear of the vehicle.
• Speed limits:
- Motorways: 130km/h - 81 mph
(110km/h - 68 mph in rain or fog)
- Highways: 90km/h - 56 mph
- Populated areas: 50km/h - 32 mph

Il existe deux cas de figure :
There are two different cases:
• For private vehicles to be imported for no more than
six months, there are no formalities. Otherwise, the
vehicle must be cleared through customs. The owner
should take the vehicle’s registration and insurance
card as well as some form of personal identification
to the nearest customs office. Upon payment of tax
(VAT for European Union, VAT plus customs for non-EU
vehicles), the vehicle may be driven in France.
• For vehicles to be imported in connection with a
film shoot, a temporary admission permit is required.
This can be obtained from the nearest customs
office. Vehicle papers and a certificate confirming
the reason for importing (i.e. the film shoot) are
required in order for the statement of temporary
admission to be issued.

• S’il s’agit d’un véhicule personnel, et si cette importation n’excède pas 6 mois, aucune formalité n’est
obligatoire. Au-delà, il y a obligation de dédouaner
le véhicule. Le possesseur du véhicule doit alors se
rendre au bureau des douanes le plus proche, muni
de la carte d’immatriculation, de l’assurance et de
papiers d’identité. Moyennant le paiement de taxes,
TVA pour les véhicules de l’Union Européenne, TVA
plus droits de douanes pour ceux qui sont hors Union
Européenne, le véhicule pourra circuler librement.
• Dans le cas d’une importation de véhicule liée à un
tournage, une admission temporaire est obligatoire.
Elle sera délivrée par le bureau des douanes le plus
proche. Les papiers du véhicule et une attestation
prouvant l’objet de l’importation (tournage) seront
demandés afin d’obtenir la déclaration d’admission
temporaire.

credit card for security are generally sufficient.
The minimum hiring age varies from 21 to 25 years

Chronopost dispatches parcels weighing up to 30 kg
throughout France and to 220 overseas countries
and territories. Chronopost offers same-day service
between certain towns within France. Overseas delivery usually takes from two to four days. Chronopost
International will deliver any parcel weighing less
than 30 kg in one day (Europe), two days (USA, among
others) or six days (China, among others).

transport and transit for film and television. When
importing, the forwarding agent assumes the role of
adviser with regard to tax payment. He/she can also
be designated fiscal representative in order for VAT
to be recovered (see chapter 3). Upon exportation,
he/she is responsible for administrative procedures
concerning the sender and the address.

Most installations are fitted with earthed plugs to
avoid overloading incidents.
Requests must be made at least 1.5 months in writing,
by postal mail or fax, specifying the place of filming,
the amount of power required, the date of connection
and the invoice address.
To obtain temporary electrical lines, the EDF issues
a declaration confirming that no power supply is
available. The declaration must be presented at the
local police station to obtain permission to install
a power generator. This request must be made 3
weeks in advance.
The metering cupboard, the meter and the fuse-box
are to be supplied by the production company.

électrogène.
L’armoire comptage, le compteur et le disjoncteur
sont à fournir par la société de production.

Les talkie-walkies
Specific frequencies must be used so as not to disturb
other users. It is preferable, therefore, to obtain a
walkie-talkie from a film equipment rental company.
It is also possible to use one’s own equipment: a
request for frequencies to be attributed should
be made to the Autorité de Régulation des
Télécommunications:
Frequencies can then be attributed for the period
requested.
Des fréquences spécifiques sont à respecter afin de
ne pas occasionner de gêne pour d’autres utilisateurs. Il est donc préférable de s’équiper chez un
loueur de matériel cinématographique.
On peut toutefois utiliser son propre matériel.
Il faut déposer une demande d’attribution de
fréquences auprès de l’Autorité de Régulation des
Télécommunications. Celles-ci seront alors attribuées
pour la durée demandée.
