Randonnée à la pleine lune
La municipalité a invité les résidents à chausser leurs raquettes et
à venir découvrir le premier segment du Sentier des Familles, lors
d’une randonnée à la pleine lune le vendredi le 6 mars. Pas moins
de 35 personnes ont répondu à l’appel ! Une belle initiative, dont le
succès démontre le vif intérêt des citoyens pour les activités
nature.
Une autre randonnée en raquettes est prévue en matinée le 21
mars. On terminera par un dîner au restaurant Kern’s. Détails
dans le Gore Express et réservations auprès de Tammy Hall, 450562-2025.
Hiking under the full moon
The municipality has asked residents to put on their snowshoes
and come discover our first family hike under the full moon Friday,
March 6. No fewer than 35 people answered the call! A great
initiative, whose success demonstrates the strong interest of
citizens for nature activities.

Un premier sentier pédestre
Notre nouveau sentier pédestre a été populaire
tout l’hiver! Grâce à lui, il est désormais possible
d’aller au village à pied, sans passer par la route.
Reliant le lac Solar au parc municipal, le sentier
s’étend sur plus de 6 kilomètres bien damés et
clairement
balisés par des rubans bleus.

Le sentier propose cinq zones aux environnements
distincts:
Our new trail has been popular all winter!
Thanks to it, it is now possible to go to the
village on foot, bypassing the road. Linking Lac
Solar to the Municipal Park, the trail stretches
more than 6 kilometers, is well groomed and
clearly marked by blue ribbons.
The trail offers five areas with distinct
environments:

ruisseau Williams (cascades ravissantes);
• un dégagement bordant la petite partie du
marécage qui s’ouvre en delta et dont la
grande partie s’étend jusque derrière l’Hôtel
de fVille
(un paysage lunaire !);
Etiam ringilla • une boucle qui pénètre dans la jeune forêt de
feuillus entre le Coteau des Érables et le
chemin Cambria (zone intensément fréquentée
par les chevreuils, renards et lièvres);
• le sentier Matter/Sunnerton qui traverse le
chemin Cambria et rejoint le chemin Rodgers.

enchanting site, with no visible dwelling except animal burrows!

Williams Creek (lovely waterfalls);
a clearance bordering the small part of
the swamp that opens onto a delta which
extends behind City Hall (a lunar
landscape!);
a loop that enters the young deciduous
forest of maples between Coteau des
Srables and Cambria road (an area
frequented by deer, foxes and hares);
the Matter/Sunnerton trail connecting
Cambria and Rodgers roads.

Un grand projet de sentiers
A great trail project
Le sentier du Petit Marécage est né d’une
collaboration fructueuse entre le Comité Nature de
votre association et la municipalité, tout
particulièrement l’inspecteur en environnement
Mathieu Madison.
The Little Swamp trail was born out of a
fruitful collaboration between the Nature
Committee of your association and the
municipality, particularly with the help of
environmental inspector Mathieu Madison.
Celui-ci a suggéré d’élargir cette initiative à
l’ensemble du territoire de Gore. Avec l’appui de la
Municipalité, il a formé un comité paramunicipal
«Sentier-Nature», auquel nous participons avec
enthousiasme, afin de développer un réseau de
sentiers pédestres qui permettra éventuellement de
relier tout le canton. Oui, vous avez bien lu : tout le
canton de Gore !
He supports extending this initiative for the
entire territory of Gore. With further support
from the Municipality, he formed a paramunicipal committee "Nature and Trail
Committee" in which we enthusiastically
participate to develop a network of hiking trails
that will eventually connect the entire Canton.
Yes, you read that right: the whole Canton of
Gore!
Une première rencontre a eu lieu au début de février
pour lancer le projet « Sentier des Familles ». Un
budget a été prévu pour la signalisation et
l’aménagement. Ce sentier demande l’accord des
propriétaires des terrains que traversera le sentier.
Une reconnaissance particulière leur sera
témoignée dans la toponymie du sentier, entre
autres.
The first meeting took place in early February
to launch the project "Family Trails." A budget
has been developed for signage and
development. The trails require the consent of
landowners through which these trails pass.
Special recognition will be given to the owners
when naming the trails.

dozen Gore citizens who attend these meetings?
Yet at the meetings votes are held, laws are
discussed and resolutions are made that affect
us all.

citoyen de s’exprimer au cours de deux périodes de
questions, une au début et une à la fin. Le maire et
les conseillers répondent à toutes les questions
qu’on leur pose, ils prennent note des
préoccupations qui sont exprimées.
Your participation can make a difference. The
atmosphere is friendly and allows every citizen
to speak at two question periods, one at the
beginning and one at the end. The mayor and
councilors respond to all the questions put to
them and they take note of the concerns
expressed.

Come visit: meetings only last one hour, and they
are often more interesting than a TV show!

bottin de ressources locales. Il rassemblera les
coordonnées des gens des environs qui
peuvent offrir des services aux membres de
l’Association.
We plan to establish a small directory of local
resources. The directory will provide the names
and contact information of people in the area
who can offer services to members of the
Association.
Homme à tout faire, gardienne d’enfant, aide à
l’entretien du terrain, plombier, électricien,
ébéniste, thérapeute, mécanicien, consultant
en informatique : nous aimerions vous
connaître et vous faire connaître.
Handymen, babysitters, grounds maintenance,
plumbers, electricians, carpenters, therapists,
mechanics, computer consultants, we would
like to know you and advertise your services.
Nul besoin d’être un professionnel ! Plusieurs
villégiateurs apprécieraient avoir les services
d’un jeune « geek » pour les aider à rester zen
devant leur ordinateur ou leur téléviseur.
Que ce soit votre hobby, votre métier ou la
nouvelle passion de votre retraite, n’hésitez pas
à la partager. Un réseau d’entraide à la
campagne, c’est vraiment précieux !
Dans notre bottin communautaire, nous
aimerions aussi accorder une place spéciale
aux artisans et artistes de nos trois lacs.

premier événement social qui aurait lieu au début
des vacances d’été. Le comité compte se réunir le
25 avril prochain, à 13h, au 28 chemin Tamarac
(chez Alexis Vaillancourt et Janick Roy) afin d’établir
un plan de match.
The Recreation and Family Committee want to
organize our first social event to be held at the
beginning of the summer holidays. The
committee plans to meet on April 25, at 13h, 28
Tamarac Road (at Alexis Vaillancourt and Roy
Janick) to establish a game plan.

Le comité des Eaux pourra bénéficier d’une
expertise accrue dès cet été, pour ses prochains
tests de qualité de l’eau dans les trois lacs. En
effet, nous avons établi des liens avec d’autres
associations de riverains de Gore, qui ont une
solide expérience en la matière. Par exemple,
l’association de Dunany compte cinquante ans
d’existence!
The Water Committee may benefit from
increased expertise this summer, for its
upcoming water quality tests in our three lakes.
Indeed, we have established links with other
resident associations of Gore, who have extensive
experience in the field. For example, the Dunany
Community Association has fifty years of
experience!
Nos volontaires recevront une formation qui
permettra de bonifier la méthode et de compléter
les résultats des tests que nous avons entrepris
l’an dernier. Nous aurons ainsi le portrait le plus
exact possible de la santé de nos lacs.
Our volunteers will receive training, which will
improve the methods of collections and
completion of the test results we undertook last
year. We will have the most accurate picture
possible of the health of our lakes.
