This standard which is designed to
assess the performance of a fabric
or layers of fabric for their ability to
resist heavy rubbing, cutting by a
blade or sharp object, tearing, and
puncture by a pointed object. The
test procedure includes a separate
test for each of these properties, and
a performance level is awarded
according to each test result.
Heat Protection:This standard
specifies testmethods,general
requirements,thermal performance
levels and the making of gloves
against heat and/or fire.For gloves
which must protect hands against heat
and/or flames.1.Resistance to
flammability:Time during which the
material keeps burning even after the
ignition source has been
removed.2.Resistance to contact
heat:Temperature(100°C-500°C)at
which the wearer will not feel any pain
(min 15 seconds).3.Resistance to
convective heat:Time during which the
glove is able to hold the transfer of the
flame’s heat.4.Resistance to radiant
heat:Time necessary for rising to a
given temperature level.5.Resistance
to small projections of molten
metal:Small Splashes necessary for
the glove to rise to a certain
temperature.6.Resistance to
projections of molten metal in big
quantities:Large quantities necessary
