Mars 2009 - service de la communication - document imprimé sur papier certifié PEFC / Post-MASTER’S specialisation diploma / ANWM Advanced Nuclear Waste Management : A comprehensive approach to the management of nuclear waste ECOLE DES MINES DE NANTES Advanced Nuclear Waste Management / / / Objectives / / Program structure / •A cquire the basic scientific knowledge necessary for nuclear waste management and understand how to assess long-term safety and environmental impacts. •M aster the operating techniques and strategies for the management of nuclear waste. •O ne semester of academic coursework (350 hours) at the Ecole des Mines de Nantes in the SUBATECH* laboratory combined with regular site visits and group projects. • Implement appropriate solutions according to the type of waste through project work in industry. • A 6-month internship with a key player in the field to resolve an industrial problem of nuclear waste management. •G ain understanding of a professional context which is constantly monitored by various stakeholders. * •B uild contacts with a large number of key international players in the field. Young Master’s level graduates wishing to pursue their career in this field. / Teaching team / The courses and projects are run by a team comprising faculty from the Ecole des Mines de Nantes and international experts under the direction of Prof. Bernd Grambow, Ivan Peychès prize winner 2008 (Academie des Sciences, France). Post-master’s specialisation diploma, Awanded by the French ministry of industry.
