SAFETY WARNINGS
Read and review instructions before using
the adapter/converter.
Before using the adapter or converter,
check the product you intend to use for the
manufacturer’s voltage and/or wattage rating,
which should be located on the product.
CAUTION: Adapters alone do not convert
voltage. To avoid damaging your appliance,
do not use without a voltage converter.
Do not leave converter in the wall outlet
when not in use. Please do not continue
to use the adapter/converter combo if it is
not working properly, if it has been damaged,
or dropped in water.
The converter should be used only with
appliances rated 51–1875 watts.
The converter should not be used at all with
electronic appliances or appliances containing
electronic components (i.e., the converter
function should only be used with
non-electronic heating appliances).
Some appliances may operate a little more
slowly when used in foreign countries operating
on 50 cycles (U.S. operates on 60 cycles).
At times there may be a very low humming
sound in the converter, appliance, or both.
This is normal.
Due to unstable voltage in most foreign
countries, if your appliance has a built-in
thermostat, it may shut off your appliance
prematurely. This does not mean your appliance
or converter (or both) are not working
properly. After your appliance cools down it
should resume operating properly.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Most foreign countries operate on
220/240V. Most appliances sold in the U.S are
manufactured to operate on 110/120V. This
converter allows you to convert the voltage
system. Appliances that operate on 110/120V
will not work in most parts of the world where
the voltage is 220/240V. Your Travel Smart®
by Conair™ All in One Adapter/Converter
makes it possible to use most of your portable
appliances almost anywhere in the world.
The adapter/converter can be used as an
adapter only or as an adapter/converter combo
function. The adapter only function should be
used with dual-voltage appliances. The
adapter/converter combo function should be
used with single-voltage appliances.
How to determine whether the appliance
is single or dual voltage.
The indication panel shows information like
model #, wattage, etc. It also lists the type
of voltage. Dual-voltage appliances will list
110/220V AC, or 100/240V AC, or something
similar. This means they accept both 110 and
220V AC. Single-voltage appliances will just say
110V AC or 120V AC.
If dual voltage, your
appliance may have

Other items such as laptop computer battery
chargers, camera battery chargers and iPods
automatically adjust to 110V or 220V power.
ADAPTER ONLY
The voltage selector switch should be
positioned in the adapter setting. Plug dual
voltage appliances into your adapter. Select
appropriate country plug blade and plug into
foreign wall.
ADAPTER/CONVERTER COMBO
Voltage selector switch should be in the
converter position. Plug single-voltage appliance
rated up to 1875W into the converter and
select the correct foreign outlet plug. Plug into
foreign wall. Please note, converter cannot
be used with low-wattage appliances
(i.e., rated 0–50W).

Europe - Push first set of side buttons forward.
UK/HK - Push second set of side buttons
forward. Then, push down the middle prong.
North America/South America/Japan Push third set of side buttons forward.
Australia/New Zealand - Push third set of
side buttons forward. Swivel each prong to
the proper angle (as shown).
Note: When using a 2- or 3-prong Australia/NZ
appliance, you may need to apply some force
to the plug to insert it all the way.

Conair will repair or replace (at our option)
your unit free of charge for 12 months
from the date of purchase if the appliance is
defective in workmanship or materials.
To obtain service under this warranty, return the
defective product to the service centre listed
below, together with your purchase receipt and
$7.50 for postage and handling. In the absence
of a purchase receipt, the warranty period shall
be 12 months from the date of manufacture.

LIABILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO
THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF
MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A

MISE EN GARDE : Les adaptateurs de prise
ne convertissent pas la puissance. Brancher
un appareil de 110/120V sur 220/240V sans
utiliser la fonction « convertisseur » risque
d’endommager l’appareil.
Débrancher le convertisseur lorsque vous ne
l’utilisez pas.
Ne pas utiliser le convertisseur s’il ne
fonctionne pas correctement, s’il est abîmé ou
s’il est tombé dans l’eau.
Utilisez la fonction « convertisseur » avec les
appareils de 51 à 1875 watts uniquement.
Ne pas utiliser la fonction « convertisseur
» avec des appareils électroniques ou à
composants électroniques. Si vous ne savez
pas si votre appareil contient des composants
électroniques, contactez le fabricant.
Le courant aux États-Unis est de 60 cycles
par seconde (60 Hz). Dans de nombreuses
autres régions du monde, il est de 50 cycles
par seconde (50 Hz). Il se peut donc que
vos appareils de 110/120V fonctionnent plus
lentement à l’étranger.
Il se peut que le convertisseur et/ou l’appareil
émette un léger bourdonnement. Cela
est normal.
Si votre appareil est équipé d’un thermostat,
une fluctuation électrique notable peut
l’éteindre subitement. Si cela se produisait,
débranchez l’appareil puis laissez-le refroidir
quelques minutes.
DIRECTIVES
D’UTILISATION
La plupart des appareils vendus aux États-Unis
fonctionnent sur une puissance de 110/120V.
Ils ne fonctionneront pas dans les pays où le
courant est de 220/240V. Votre convertisseur
de tension avec adaptateurs de prise intégrés
TravelSmart® by Conair™ vous permettra
d’utiliser les appareils de 110/120V partout
dans le monde. Grâce aux adaptateurs de prise
intégrés, vous pourrez également l’utiliser pour
brancher les appareils bitensions à l’étranger.
Comment déterminer si votre appareil
est bitension? - La puissance nominale de
chaque appareil est généralement indiquée sur
sa fiche signalétique. Les appareils à tension
unique indiqueront 110V ou 120V uniquement.
Les appareils bitensions indiqueront 110/220V,
100/240V ou 125/250V.
Il se peut que l’appareils
soit également équipé d’un
sélecteur de tension
(voir à droite).
Les appareils comme les chargeurs de batterie
d’ordinateur ou d’appareil photo et les iPods
se règlent automatiquement sur la
tension adéquate.
FONCTION ADAPTATEUR DE PRISE
Si vous n’avez pas besoin de convertir la
tension, placez le sélecteur de tension du
convertisseur sur « 110V 110V ADAPTER »,
connectez l’appareil au convertisseur, choisissez
l’adaptateur de prise désiré et branchez le
convertisseur dans la prise de courant.
Appareils bitensions - Les appareils bitensions
fonctionnent sur 110/120V et 220/240V. Vous
n’aurez donc pas besoin de convertir la tension
pour les utiliser à l’étranger. Cependant, s’ils
sont équipés d’un sélecteur de tension (c’est
généralement le cas des séchoirs), il vous faudra
régler ce-dernier sur la position appropriée
avant de brancher l’appareil.
FONCTION CONVERTISSEUR
DE TENSION
Si vous avez besoin de convertir la tension,
placez le sélecteur de tension du convertisseur
sur « 220V 110V CONVERTER »,
connectez l’appareil au convertisseur, choisissez
l’adaptateur de prise désiré et branchez le
convertisseur dans la prise de courrant.
Important : Utilisez le convertisseur de
tension avec les appareils de 51 à 1875
watts uniquement. Votre convertisseur ne
fonctionnera pas avec les appareils à basse
puissance (0–50 watts).
CONFIGURATION
DES PRISES:
Europe - Faire glisser le bouton « EUROPE »
vers l’avant.
Royaume Uni/Hong Kong - Faire glisser le
bouton « UK » vers l’avant. Baisser la broche
du milieu.
Amérique du Nord/Amérique du Sud/Japon Faire glisser le bouton « USA/AUST »
vers l’avant.
Australie/Nouvelle Zélande - Faire glisser le
bouton « USA/AUST » vers l’avant. Positionner
les broches en V inverse, comme ci-dessous.
Remarque: Les prises des appareils
australiens/nouveaux zélandais s’enfonceront
dans l’adaptateur avec un peu de difficulté.
Il faudra un peu forcer.
