These instructions describe the steps for setting up a link between the
device and a PC, using the PC interface USB/TTL and the Setup program.
Any manipulations that are not described in these instructions (or even
expressly forbidden) will endanger your warranty rights!
If you have any problems, please contact the nearest subsidiary or the
head office.
Use only the cables supplied in the specified lengths!
3 Before you plug in the USB connector...

Notes:
If more than one user is administered by the computer, then the user who
is logged in must be the one who will subsequently be working with the
program.
The user must have administrator rights during the installation. After installation, the rights can be restricted again.
Application
- The PC interface USB/TTL is only designed for service use over a limited
period, such as the transfer of setup data or controller optimization through
startup programs.
- It is not suitable for unlimited operation of the interface in a fixed installation.
- It links the device to a PC through an electrically isolated connection. The
RJ-45 connector is specially adapted to the PC interface USB/TTL, and is not
suitable for third-party equipment.

Installation and connection sequence
h Insert the CD-ROM into the drive (1), then close the drive.
If the CD does not start automatically, run launch.exe from the root directory of
the CD.
vFollow the instructions in Chapter 4.1, "Install the interface driver"
h After driver installation, connect the PC interface USB/TTL to the PC by using
the USB cable (2).
vChapter 4.2, "Virtual COM interface"
h Connect the PC interface USB/TTL to the device by using the connecting cable
(3) and the adapter (socket).

h Install the Setup program DigiTrace TCONTROL-CONT-03 from CD-ROM.
vFollow the instructions in Chapter 4.3, "Install the Setup program"
h Start the Setup program and establish a connection between the PC and the
device.

Significance of the LEDs on the RJ-45 socket
The LED „Voltage“ lights up as soon as the voltage is supplied to the PC interface
USB/TTL.
The LED „Communication“ lights up when data are being transferred
between the device and the PC.

Install the interface driver
h Select national language and click on OK:
h Click on PC interface USB/TTL:

h Click on Driver and a DOS window opens:
If this window ist closed, the installation is finished.
h Click on Exit

Virtual COM interface
After connecting the PC interface USB/TTL to the PC, the PC indicates that new
hardware was found. (These messages may be missing in some cases.)
A virtual COM interface (USB Serial Port (COM ...)) is automatically entered in the
Windows Device Manager (Control Panel) and is then subsequently available for
selection in the Setup program.
In addition a further USB controller is added (USB Serial Converter).

Install the Setup program
h Click on DigiTrace TCONTROL-CONT-03:
h Click on Installation:
The installation program will guide you through the rest of the installation.

5 Create device link
This example shows how a connection is established between a PC and the device
by using the Setup program.
h Start the Setup program via the PC start menu:
Start r Programs r <program folder> r Setup program DigiTrace ...
(The name of the program folder is assigned during Setup program installation.)
Click into the window to continue.
h Click on Data transfer and Establish connection:

The Assistant for setting devices is started.
h Click on Next:
h Select Serial interface (even though it is physically an USB interface)
and click on Next:

h Select COM3 and click on Next:
COM 3 is the new (virtual) interface that has been set up in this example for the PC
interface USB/TTL.
h Enter the Device address and click on Next:

h Check the summary of the settings and click on Finish:
The connection has now been entered in the device list.
h Click on Binding to establish the connection:

6 Uninstalling the software

Setup program and interface driver can be uninstalled by using Windows
Control Panel r Software.
Remove Setup program
h Remove entry Setup program DigiTrace TCONTROL-CONT-03:
h Select Remove and click on Next to remove all installed features:

h Click on Yes to confirm:
h Click on Finish:
After uninstalling, the entry Setup program DigiTrace ... will no longer appear in the
Windows Control Panel r Software.

Remove interface driver
h Remove both entries of FTDI CDM Driver Package:
h Click on Yes to confirm:
After uninstalling, the entry FTDI CDM Driver Package will no longer appear in the
Windows Control Panel r Software.
In the Windows Device Manager, the entries USB Serial Port (COM...) and USB Serial Converter have been removed.

A current connection between PC and device will be interrupted, because
the driver was uninstalled.
An indication will be displayed, that the changes will become active after
the PC was restarted.

Remarques :
Si plusieurs utilisateurs se connectent à l’ordinateur, il faut que soit
connecté l’utilisateur qui travaillera ensuite avec le logiciel.
Pendant l’installation du logiciel, l’utilisateur doit posséder les droits d’administrateur. Après l’installation, il est possible de limiter à nouveau les
droits de l’utilisateur.
Utilisation
- L’interface USB/TTL pour PC n’est conçue que pour une utilisation ponctuelle
de type S.A.V. comme par exemple le transfert de données Setup ou l’optimisation d’un régulateur à l’aide des logiciels Startup.
- Elle n’est pas adaptée à un fonctionnement permanent avec une installation
câblée.
- Elle relie l’appareil à un PC via une connexion à séparation galvanique. La fiche
RJ-45 est spécialement adaptée à l’interface USB/TTL pour PC et non à des
produits manufacturés étrangers.

Ne remplacez pas la fiche femelle RJ-45 par une connexion de type
RNIS ou réseau !

Installation et raccordement
h Insérez le CD-ROM dans le lecteur (1) puis le fermer.
Si le CD ne démarre pas automatiquement, exécutez le fichier launch.exe dans
le répertoire principal du CD.
vSuivez les instructions dans Chapitre 4.1, "Installer le driver d’interface"
h Après l’installation du driver, veuillez relier l’interface USB/TTL pour PC avec le
câble USB (2) au PC.
vChapitre 4.2, "Port COM virtuel"
h Reliez l’interface USB/TTL pour PC avec la ligne de connexion (3) et
l’adaptateur (prise femelle) à l’appareil.

h Installez le logiciel Setup DigiTrace TCONTROL-CONT-03 du CD-ROM.
vSuivez les instructions du Chapitre 4.3, "Installer le logiciel Setup"
h Démarrez le logiciel Setup et établissez une connexion entre PC et appareil.
vSuivez les instructions du Chapitre 5, "Etablir la connexion appareil"

Signification des LEDs sur la fiche femelle RJ-45
La LED „Tension“ s’allume dès que l’interface USB/TTL pour PC est alimentée.

4 Installation du logiciel

Installer le driver d’interface
h Sélectionnez la langue et cliquez sur OK :
h Cliquez sur Interface USB/TTL pour PC :

Lorsque cette fenêtre se ferme, l’installation est terminée.

4.2
Port COM virtuel
Après raccordement de l’interface USB/TTL au PC, le PC signale qu’un nouveau
matériel a été trouvé. (Ces messages peuvent, dans certains cas, faire défaut.)
Un port COM virtuel (USB Serial Port (COM ...)) est automatiquement enregistré
dans le gestionnaire appareil de Windows (menu Système) et est ensuite disponible
dans le programme Setup.
Un contrôleur USB peut en outre être ajouté (USB Serial Converter).

Installer le logiciel Setup
h Cliquez sur DigiTrace TCONTROL-CONT-03 :

Le programme d’installation vous guidera à travers l’installation restante.

5 Etablir la connexion appareil
Cet exemple montre comment une connexion est créée entre un PC et l’appareil
avec le logiciel Setup.
h Démarrez le logiciel Setup par le menu Démarrer du PC :

(le nom du Dossier Programme est attribué pendant l’installation du programme
Setup.)
Pour continuer cliquez dans la fenêtre.
h Cliquez sur Transfert de données et Etablir la connexion :

L’Assistant pour les règlages de l’appareil est démarré.
h Cliquez sur Suivant :
h Sélectionnez Interface sérielle (même s’il s’agit physiquement d’un port USB) et
cliquez sur Suivant :

COM 3 est la nouvelle interface (virtuelle) qui a été créée dans cet exemple pour
l’interface USB/TTL pour PC.
h Entrez Adresse appareil et cliquez sur Suivant :

h Vérifiez le résumé des réglages et cliquez sur Terminer :
La connexion a été enregistrée dans la liste des appareils.
h Cliquez sur Connecter pour établir la connexion :

6 Désinstaller le logiciel

Le logiciel Setup ainsi que le driver d’interface peuvent être désinstallés
dans le menu Système de Windows r Logiciel.
Supprimer le logiciel Setup
h Supprimez le Logiciel Setup DigiTrace TCONTROL-CONT-03 :
h Sélectionnez Supprimer et cliquez sur Suivant pour supprimer toutes les fonctions installées :

h Cliquez sur Oui pour confirmer :
h Cliquez sur Terminer :
Après la désinstallation, Logiciel Setup DigiTrace ... ne s’affiche plus dans le menu
Système de Windows r Logiciel.

Supprimer le driver d’interface
h Supprimez les deux saisies FTDI CDM Driver Package :

Après la désinstallation, FTDI CDM Driver Package ne s’affiche plus dans le menu

Les saisies USB Serial Port (COM...) et USB Serial Converter ont été supprimées
dans le gestionnaire appareil de Windows.

Hinweise:
Werden auf dem Rechner mehrere Benutzer verwaltet, so muss der Benutzer angemeldet sein, der später mit dem Programm arbeiten wird.
Der Benutzer muss während der Installation der Software die Administratorrechte besitzen. Nach der Installation können die Rechte wieder eingeschränkt werden.
Verwendung
- Das PC-Interface mit USB/TTL-Umsetzer ist lediglich für den zeitlich
beschränkten Serviceeinsatz konzipiert, wie z.B. Übertragung von Setupdaten
oder Regleroptimierung über Startup Programme.
- Für den fest verdrahteten zeitlich unbeschränkten Schnittstellendauerbetrieb ist
es nicht geeignet.
- Es verbindet das Gerät über eine galvanisch getrennte Verbindung mit einem
PC. Der RJ-45 Stecker ist speziell an das PC-Interface USB/TTL angepasst
und nicht für Fremdfabrikate geeignet.

Netzwerkanschluss!

Installations- und Anschlussreihenfolge
h Legen Sie die CD-ROM in das Laufwerk (1) und schließen Sie dieses.
Wenn die CD nicht automatisch startet, führen Sie die Datei launch.exe im
Hauptverzeichnis der CD aus.
vFolgen Sie den Anweisungen in Kapitel 4.1, "Interface-Treiber installieren"
h Nach der Treiberinstallation schließen Sie das PC-Interface USB/TTL mit dem
USB-Kabel (2) an den PC an.
vKapitel 4.2, "Virtuelle COM-Schnittstelle"
h Schließen Sie das PC-Interface USB/TTL mit der Verbindungsleitung (3) und
dem Adapter (Buchse) an das Gerät an.

Virtuelle COM-Schnittstelle
Nachdem das PC-Interface USB/TTL an den PC angeschlossen wurde, meldet der
PC, dass neue Hardware gefunden wurde. (Diese Meldungen können in manchen
Fällen auch ausbleiben.)
Eine virtuelle COM-Schnittstelle (USB Serial Port (COM ...)) wird automatisch im
Windows Geräte-Manager (Systemsteuerung) eingetragen und steht später im
Setup-Programm zur Auswahl.
Zusätzlich wird ein weiterer USB-Controller hinzugefügt (USB Serial Converter).

5 Geräteverbindung herstellen
Dieses Beispiel zeigt, wie mit dem Setup-Programm eine Verbindung zwischen einem PC und dem Gerät hergestellt wird.
h Starten Sie das Setup-Program über das Start-Menü des PCs:

(Der Name des Programmordners wird während der Installation des SetupProgramms vergeben.)

h Entfernen Sie beide Einträge des FTDI CDM Driver Package:
h Klicken Sie zur Bestätigung auf Ja:
Nach dem Deinstallieren erscheint der Eintrag FTDI CDM Driver Package nicht
mehr in der Windows Systemsteuerung r Software.
Im Windows Gerätemanager sind die Einträge USB Serial Port (COM...) und USB
Serial Converter entfernt worden.

Sollte noch eine Verbindung zum Gerät bestehen, wird diese unterbrochen,
weil der dazu erforderliche Treiber deinstalliert wurde.
Eine Meldung wird ausgegeben, dass die Änderungen erst nach einem
Neustart des PCs wirksam werden.
