to have these amazing young artists here in Ottawa. Their presence at the festival - both on stage and off - brings with it an
amazing energy along with a remarkable, enthusiastic view of the
future of dance in Canada

Inspired by Christian Calon and Chantal Dumas soundscapes….
“Fjeld” a piece in five sections, was inspired by a year of reading the Bible. This duet
feels to me like a Symbolist painting or a Bergman film stark and restrained with
passion bubbling below the surface. Although the dance was created in silence, the
evocative song by Arvo Pärt feels tailor-made for the choreography. I worked simultaneously with two magnificent casts: Coralee McLean and Kate Alton, and Monica
Burr and Miriane Braaf. – C.H.

It’s an exciting time to be part of the Canada Dance Festival. As we celebrate 25 years of dance in the nation’s capital, CDF 2012 welcomes an
amazing array of talented artists from coast to coast to coast. Be inspired
by the original creative voice of the Canadian dance artist as we come together for eight great days celebrating dance in Canada. Ignite your passion!
Quel moment palpitant pour faire partie du Festival Danse Canada. En
cette célébration de 25 ans de danse dans la capitale nationale, FDC 2012
est heureux d’accueillir une pléiade d’artistes talentueux venus des quatre
coins du pays. Soyez inspiré par l’originalité de nos artistes canadiens,
alors que nous nous rassemblons pendant huit jours pour célébrez la danse au Canada. Stimulez votre passion!
