MATTEO PASTORINO Clarinet, Bass Clarinet and Composition
Born in Sardinia in 1989, he began to play clarinet at the age of 13. Very soon, his passion turned to jazz thanks to his bass player father. The young self-taught man then received his first
educational supervision from Nuoro Jazz workshops led by trompetist Paolo Fresu. There,
he was awarded several scholarships, one of them granting him the opportunity to record
an album and play in various Italian jazz festivals.
At 19, he moved to Paris to pursue his jazz education at the Music Conservatory of Paris.
Amongst his teachers : Nicolas Dary, Jean-Charles Richard, Emil Spanyi, Pierre Bertrand, André Villeger, Joe Quitzke.
Summer 2009 was marked by the Siena jazz, where he had the chance to study with Kenny
Werner, Clarence Penn, Aaron Goldberg, Miguel Zenon, Jim Snidero. The ‘best musician’
scholarship also allowed him to study with Chris Potter.
In 2012, at the Saint Germain des Près jazz festival (Paris) not only his quartet won the springboard 1st award in bands contest but Matteo, himself, received the Selmer prize for best
soloist with a endorsement from the pretigious brand. Still in 2012, he was awarded the public choice prize and the 2nd prize at the International Jazz Soloist Competition of Monaco
Besides working with his quartet, Matteo Pastorino appears in several other projects: Clax3,
Du-Os / Tri-Os, Nicola Andrioli Fourth Stream Ensemble, Talmest, Playground Four, Julian
Getreau Quartet …

Matthieu Roffé Piano and Composition
Born April 8, 1983. Admitted in the Conservatoire National de Région de Metz in classical piano class at age
6 and joins the jazz department of Metz CNR in 2001 in the piano class of Mario Stantchev.
In 2006 he obtained his Diploma of Music jazz (DEM) at the CNR of Metz and in 2007 a Diplôme d’Etat (DE)
in jazz discipline. Admitted in september 2007 in the CRR of Paris in the Emil Spanyi piano class.
In September 2009, under the leadership of Emil Spanyi, he was recruited by the Jazz Department of the
Conservatory of Lausanne led by George Robert as a teacher of piano and combos. From November 2010 to
June 2011 became dean of educational of professional section in School of Jazz and Music Current (EJMA)
in Lausanne. These two items are left in June 2011 to continue his career as a musician.
Since 2009, he realizes a lifelong dream by undertaking the direction of an orchestra, the Systematik Endectet now the Matthieu Roffé Orchestra, composed of 11 musicians in which he is leader,composer and arranger. In 2013 he estabilish his trio, the Metroplitan Chamber Trio.

At first self-educated in music, Bertrand begins to occur as an electric bassist in France and Europe, with
rock/funk french bands as Notorious or Les Amis d’ta Femme. He gets sponsored by luthier Christophe
Leduc (Marcus Miller, Abraham Laboriel ...).
Then he studies upright bass in Paris with Gildas Boclé, Yves Rousseau, Diego Humbert or Joe Sanders and

Drummer from Paris born in 1990, he studied percussions and drums at Metz National Music Shool, then he
studied with great musicians like Eric Chartier , Umberto Pagnini, Jean-Marc Robin, after that went to the
National conservatory of Paris, where he followed classes with Joe Quitzke and where he completed music
lessons (Harmony, Arrangement).
In the meantime, Jean-baptiste had the great opportunity to follow masterclass with famous musicians like
Wynton Marsalis, Ari Hoenig, Tyshawn Sorey, Mark Feldman .
He also takes regular classes with some masters of drums ( Dan Weiss , Henry Cole , Franck Aguhlon ).
As a complete drummer and musicians , he is involved in many bands in Paris
