TECHNICAL DATA
JEAN CEL NPE PDR
DESCRIPTION:
APPLICATION:
JEAN CEL NPE PDR is a neutral cellulase enzyme blend
offering greater processing flexibility.
JEAN CEL NPE PDR is used in denim and garment
finishing processes to create a fashionable, faded look. It
provides abrasion that partially removes color and
provides a softer handle.
JEAN CEL NPE PDR is a pre-buffered blend with a pH
range of 5.5 – 6.5 resulting in a more consistent garment
quality with less pH control.
JEAN CEL NPE PDR provides a high-contrast, lowbackstaining look in shorter processing time requiring less
clean up.
JEAN CEL NPE PDR is compatible with other finishing
aids such as non-ionic surfactants, dispersants, perlite or
pumice stone.
JEAN CEL NPE PDR provides the capability of achieving
a wide range of abrasion by varying the enzyme dosage.
JEAN CEL NPE PDR has a broad temperature range of
45ºC to 60ºC offering easier monitoring by the operators.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:
Appearance :
White granular blend.
Chemical nature :
Neutral cellulase enzyme.
Solubility :
Readily soluble.
Storage stability :
Minimum 6 months in sealed,
cool, dry container.
Not considered hazardous but
avoid breathing enzyme dust
and prolonged skin contact.
Safety :
2002/05/10
Prior to the use of JEAN CEL NPE PDR, a proper desize
of the garment or fabric is required for assuring constancy
in the performance of the enzyme. Tri-Tex co. Tricozym or
Jean Prevent amylase or detergent based desizing aids
are recommended for the removal of starch sizing
materials.
PROCESSING CONDITIONS:
Dosage

Processing conditions are dependent upon abrasion
levels required. Increased dosages or processing time will
result in proportionately increased abrasion.

TECHNICAL DATA
JEAN CEL NPE PDR
ENZYME INACTIVATION:
PACKAGING:
The enzyme treatment must be terminated with one of the
following after the abrasion step to ensure proper enzyme
inactivation.
JEAN CEL NPE PDR is available in 45-gallon (200kg)
plastic drums. It can also be available in water-soluble
bags of 1kg or other.
Ø Hold the bath at pH > 9.5 for 10 minutes. Adjust pH
with 1-2g/l sodium carbonate (soda ash) or an alkaline
detergent.
STORAGE:
Ø Elevating the temperature to > 75ºC for 10 minutes or
adding chlorine bleach and hold for 5 minutes, will
inactivate but will also affect the colour.
SAFETY:
Enzymes are proteins and inhalation of enzyme dust and
mists should be avoided. JEAN CEL NPE PDR is virtually
non-dusting.
But like all enzymes should be handled carefully. They
may induce sensitization and may cause allergic reaction
in sensitized individuals. Some enzymes may irritate skin,
eyes, and mucus membranes upon prolonged contact.
In case of contact with the skin or eyes, promptly rinse
with water for at least 30 minutes.
For detailed handling information, please refer to the
appropriate Material Safety Date Sheet (MSDS).
Enzymes gradually lose activity over time depending on
storage conditions. To ensure extended shelf life, store
JEAN CEL NPE PDR at 25ºC (77ºF) or below in a sealed
container. Close containers after partial use to protect the
product from humidity.
Under the recommended conditions, JEAN CEL NPE
PDR will maintain its activity for at least 3 months.
Extended storage and/or adverse conditions, including
elevated temperature or high humidity environment, may
lead to a high dosage requirement of this product or may
result in a loss of activity. Therefore prolonged storage at
temperature above 25ºC or high humidity level should be
avoided.
HANDLING :
JEAN CEL NPE PDR is formulated in a way that gives
the highest degree of safety during handling. The product
is non-flammable, completely miscible with water, and
safe, when used according to directions.
CAS NO. AND CHEMICAL INVENTORIES:
All spills, even small spills, should be gently shoveled into
plastic lined containers. Use respiratory protection. Small
spills and remains of large spills should be removed by
vacuuming or flushed with water (avoid splashing).
Vacuum systems should be equipped with a HEPA filter.
JEAN CEL NPE PDR is classified as a cellulase, CAS no.
9012-54-8.
