Enrichment activities last one hour, unless otherwise noted. To enroll your child, please complete and return the attached signup sheet along with your payment. Feel free to return the sign-up sheet by mail, in person, or with your child. The sign-up
deadline is Tuesday, August 16, 2016. NOTE: Proper behavior is required for students to remain in the activities.
Refunds are not issued for students who are dismissed for inappropriate and/or uncooperative behavior.
ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES
Study Hour (Monday – Thursdays, August 22 through December 15)
Study Hour is available Monday through Thursday. The time will be monitored by our instructors, and students will have the
opportunity to finish homework. Although Study Hour is not a tutoring session, it is an academic period with instructors
available for assistance. Students who finish homework early will be directed to read until the end of Study Hour.
MONDAYS
Social Skills (August 29 through December 12)
A licensed therapist from Building Bridges Therapy will help students cultivate skills such as developing and maintaining
friendships, making appropriate conversation, understanding emotions and facial expressions, and avoiding bullying/teasing. Each session is individualized to meet the specific needs of the group. (Minimum 5) (Maximum 8)
Monkey Joe’s (Grades K-6) (August 29 through December 12)
Students can improve their physical fitness while having a blast and playing on inflatable jumps, slides, and climbing walls! An
Eaton staff member will walk students to Monkey Joe’s and will supervise play at the facility. Pick-up will be at Monkey
Joe’s at 3:00 pm. This activity is for participants who are 12 years old and under. (Minimum 3)
Drop the Beat (August 29 through December 12)
Students will have the opportunity to play a variety of instruments, learn about rhythm patterns, sing together, and participate
in other fun activities. This group music class will be taught by a board certified and licensed music therapist from
Therabeat. (Minimum 5)
Guitar Lessons (Time Slots: 1:45 / 2:15 / 2:45 / 3:15) (August 29 through December 12)
Professional guitarist, Scott Plato, offers 4 times slots for 30-minute private guitar lessons. Mr. Plato teaches guitar at all levels
from the beginner through the university level. He will offer information about procuring instruments, books, et cetera for students
when necessary. Times will be allotted on a first come, first served basis. (Minimum 2)
Karate (August 29 through December 12)
Students will be transported to Crabapple Martial Arts Academy where an instructor will tea ch the skills and techniques
of karate while guiding students to develop fitness, confidence, discipline, focus, and respect. The price of the class
includes a $60 package which gives each student a uniform, a bag, and a t-shirt. Pick-up is at 4:00 pm at Crabapple Martial
Arts Academy,12315 Crabapple Road, Alpharetta, GA 30004. (Minimum 5)
TUESDAYS
Computer Keyboarding (August 30 through December 13)
This class from Successful Technology Skills focuses on learning and practicing proper typing while using the correct
technique. Students will be continuously encouraged, as well as, challenged to put away old habits and the urge to go faster,
in exchange for learning and mastering correct technique. State-of-the-art keyboards specifically designed for teaching and
practicing typing are used. (Minimum 6)
Bowling (August 30 through December 13)
Each week students will participate with their peers in two games of recreational bowling at Brunswick Zone. Participants
will be transported to the facility by Eaton staff who will remain on-site to facilitate appropriate behavior, safety, and guided
learning. Pick up is at 3:00 pm at Brunswick Zone. Parents need to park, come in, and initial the sign-out sheet.
ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES
Tennis (August 30 through December 13)
A professional from Roswell Recreation and Parks will teach tennis skills and strategies to students at Roswell Area Park on
Woodstock Road. These sessions are appropriate for all levels, even the beginner. Students should be picked up at the tennis
courts at 4:20 PM. (Minimum 4)
WEDNESDAYS
Art Club (August 31 through December 14)
An instructor from Out of the Box Art Studio will help students develop their individual artistic talents and styles. Students
will create their own projects from a mixed media palette, which will include clay, painting, and collage (specific media used
will depend on class make-up). A supply fee of $40 is included. (Minimum 5)
Video Game Design (August 31 through December 14)
A Creative Career Academy instructor will teach students to use Autodesk Maya and Unity3D software to create 3D
environments for video games. These programs are used by leading game companies and are industry standards. Students will
learn to create background blueprints for game mapping, level creation, and character development. (Minimum 3)

Music Lessons (Time Slots: 1:45 / 2:15) (August 31 through December 14)
Therabeat’s music therapist, Perry Wright, will be back on Wednesdays to offer 2 time slots of 30-minute regular, private
music lessons. Choice of instrument lessons include piano keyboarding, ukulele, and guitar. This listing is for regular music
lessons; however, music therapy lessons are available at an additional cost. Times will be allotted on a first come, first served basis.

Gymnastics (August 24 through November 2, to continue you must sign up for Session II)
A gymnastics instructor will teach students a variety of skills at the “well-renowned Roswell Recreation and Parks Gymnastics
Center” located within Roswell Area Park. Students will be exposed to several aspects of gymnastics, including the floor, balance
beam, bars, and rings. All levels are encouraged to participate. This activity meets only 11 times, with an option to sign up for the
next 11 classes. Students should be picked up inside the center at 4:10. (Minimum 6)
THURSDAYS
Chess Club (September 1 through December 15)
A coach from Championship Chess will help students build their individual chess skills through instruction, games, and guided
analysis. Strategic planning is discussed and practiced. Students of all ability levels are encouraged to join. (Minimum 5)
Sign Language Club (September 1 through December 15)
ASL (American Sign Language) is a fun and exciting adventure in learning a second language! During this semester
students can learn how to communicate with friends, family, and deaf members of their community using their hands
instead of their voice. Emphasis will be placed on greetings, common requests, and day-to-day living vocabulary.

Handyman Helper (September 1 through December 15)
Mr. Grey Eaton will teach students to use basic tools and to perform repairs that are often needed around the home. They
will tackle domestic tasks such as tightening hinges, hanging pictures, and covering scratches in furniture. The use of tools
will be age and skill level appropriate. (Minimum 3) (Maximum 3)
Fun & Games (September 1 through December 15)
An instructor from Overtime Athletics will utilize our Sport Court to help students get moving with warm-ups and games like
Bump-n-Bite, Knights-n-Dragons, and Safe Base. Then each week the group will play a different game such as tag, dodgeball,
four square, and more! (Minimum 6)

responsible or liable for injury should it occur on the way to, during, or on the way from an activity. Further, I understand that unless
otherwise specified, the Enrichment Activities are conducted by third parties not affiliated with Eaton Academy and will not be
supervised by Eaton staff. Eaton Academy is not responsible for the content or results of said activities, nor is Eaton responsible
for any injuries that may result from said activities, whether they be the result of accidents or intentional acts of participants or
instructors. In addition, I understand, acknowledge, and agree that Eaton Academy does not carry student-athlete insurance.
Further, I understand, acknowledge, and agree that I have given my permission for my child to walk to specific activities with Eaton
staff and/or to be transported according to the stipulations of the Annual Field Trip Hold Harmless form.
Lastly, I understand, acknowledge, and agree that although these activities are not official Eaton Academy courses, my child will
be held to the rules and regulations of the Eaton Academy Parent/Student Handbook during participation. I will pick up my
child promptly at the conclusion of each activity.
