MODERATOR : Guillaume MAINCENT, Reporter 8H45 - 9H30 9H30 - 10H30 Intervention of the invited countries representatives: OPENING SESSION Jean-Louis BAL, President of the French Renewable Energy Association (SER) Roger PUJOL, President of the CSP Commission, SER Nicole BRICQ*, Minister of foreign trade • KSA: Dr Maher A. ALODAN*, Directeur Recherche, Développement et Innovation ROUNDTABLE N°1 • Turkey: Sefa Sadik AYTEKIN*, Deputy Undersecretary of Energy and Natural Ressources • Tunisia: Nidhal OUERFELLI*, Energy Secretary of State TWO YEARS AFTER ITS LAUNCHING, WHERE DOES THE FRENCH INDUSTRY STAND ? • Morocco: Ali Fassi FIHRI, President of MASEN France has set a goal of 540 MW of electricity produced by CSP in 2020. After the first call for interests launched by ADEME in 2011, allowing the implementation of 4 R&D projects in CSP and 2 CSP demonstration power plants, where does the sector stand? What can one learned from the first developments? What are the needs for French actors regarding the research and demonstration projects? What are the medium-term outlooks for French CSP sectors in terms of market share, industry, new activity and jobs? Roger PUJOL, President of the CSP Commission, SER Alexis GAZZO, Mission Director, Ernst&Young François MOISAN*, Director of the strategy, ADEME 10H30 - 10H45 10H45 - 12H15 • Emirats Arabes Unis: Christopher SORENSEN*, Strategic Gobal Partnerships, MASDAR • Jordan: Minister of Energy 12H15 - 13H15 ROUNDTABLE N°3 BUILD A WINNING EXPORT STRATEGY FOR THE FRENCH CSP SECTOR ? Promoting CSP uses in the Mediterranean Rim France has already implemented tools to help its enterprises access new international markets. What are the existing actions and tools? What are the feedbacks of the first actions set? Are export tools adapted to the CSP sectors? The success of french companies in international markets needs an integrated offer and a close coordination of every actors public and private. How a strategy of this sort might be set in motion? Daniel SIMONATO, Chef de projet STS Med, CEEI Provence Introduction: PRESENTATION OF THE EUROPEAN STS MED PROGRAM IN DUPLEX WITH THE HOTEL DE LA COMPETITIVITE, AIX EN PROVENCE Jean-Marc GRAVELLINI*, Operations Director AFD Cyrille CHARBONNEL*, Operations Director, COFACE Éric DAVID, Deputy director international financing, Dg trésor, Ministry of Economy Finance and Industry ROUNDTABLE N°2 IN A GLOBAL MARKET WITH SUBSTANTIAL OPPORTUNITIES, WHAT ROLES CAN PLAY THE FRENCH CSP COMPANIES ? According to IEA, in 2050, the electricity produced by CSP will count as 11.3% of the global electricty production. With more than 1 GW of installed capacity, Concentrated Solar Power, associated or not with thermal storage, could provide an electricity production of 4 770 TWh per year, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of the United States of America. How these outlooks are expressed in the national programs of Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Turkey, Morocco and United Arab Emirates? How industry would be able to answer to the increase in global demand? What role could play international partnerships in terms of R&D? Introductory Key Note speakers: Industrial: Philippe COSTERG, Head of the Department of export development, TOTAL Regional Development Jean-Noël DE CHARENTENAY, General Director, Exosun Gilles VERMOT DESROCHES*, Vice President Sustainable development, SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC Marc BENMARRAZE, Président Directeur Général, Solar Euromed 13H15 - 13H30 CLOSING SESSION Pascal CANFIN*, Minister of Development CSP’s role in the world energy mix Cédric PHILIBERT, International Energy Agency (IEA) Industrial: Emmanuelle PETER, Deputy Technical Director, AREVA Solar Catherine DELCROIX, General DIrector of Energy Sector, CNIM Jacques JAMART, Senior vice-chairman, ALSTOM New Energies Jean-Pierre JOLY, General Director, INES CNRS/PROMES (intervenant à confirmer) Draft program updated on October 28 2013 *to be confirmed The potential resources are high in regions where direct sunlight is intense. These are mainly located in North Africa, Middle-East, Australia, South West of the USA, India or Central Asia. Prospects for this renewable energy are considerable, as shown by prospective scenarios established in particular by the International Energy Agency. In France, some sites present these characteristics. The “THEMIS” demonstration project, inaugurated in 1983 in Targassonne in the Pyrénées Orientales, made our country a pioneer in the sector. Thanks to this experimentation, the French actors of the CSP industry, from small enterprises to big companies, all along the value chain, have nowadays a great amount of assets to export their know-how and to position themselves in the international market. Concentrated Solar Power They need, at this stage, a support from the authorities to help them to take their stand in an expanding worldwide market. 3rd Edition The stake is economical benefits, generating growth and employment, which could be as important that the support will be early: international concurrence is going forward, and it’s urgent to act. Created in January 2012, France Solar Industry is the window of the French know-how in solar electricity production, all technologies included. This brand brings together the French companies working in solar photovoltaic, concentrated solar power, and concentrated photovoltaic, members of the Renewable Energy Association. Under this common banner, the French solar industry is given every opportunity to win new international markets. www.francesolarindustry.fr PRACTICAL INFORMATION INFORMATION AND REGISTRATION SEMINAR The annuel event of the sector • Crédits photos : Areva, Alstom, CNIM, Desertek-Uk, Exosun, NSO, Solar Euromed, Sunset. Concentrated solar power (CSP) consists in all the technologies that transform energy radiated by the sun into high temperature heat. This thermal energy can then be used in whatever industrial process that consumes middle or high temperature heat, among which electricity production.
