Preparing for the Oral
Examination
1. Learn your presentation well your and practice your headings for the
discussion. Continue reading around the subject and think about possible
questions from the examiner. You must be a sort of an expert on your chosen
topic, ready to answer any questions with confidence and to offer opinions.
Remember the key to success is to sound natural, knowledgeable and to speak
with flair. You must sound CONFIDENT!



Make little cue cards for each heading and include OPINIONS.
Prepare an A4 on your chosen discussion topic which you will bring
to the exam.
You are not allowed to write full sentences or conjugated verbs.
Brief notes only.
2. Revise and practise as many Role-Play cards as possible.






Complete as many Role-Play cards as possible.
Refer to the guidance booklet handed out at the beginning of the
academic year.
Learn Role-Play cards key vocabulary and phrases.
Remember to fully use the stimulus and to also be imaginative,
creative.
Do not forget to give opinions and to justify your answers.
You must sound CONFIDENT!
