The organization Païdos was founded by Nicolas Liengme, a child psychiatrist and François
Guisan, an environmentalist. Recognising the need for a framework for disadvantaged
children and teenagers in difficult situations with few prospects, a professional
organization was set up in 1996. The organization helps children and teenagers living
in Geneva in precarious situations or cut off from society, to be re-integrated. The
organization offers a unique framework combining teaching and psychology, which in
several months allows them to regain their identity and find their proper place in their
family, their school and in society. The programmes developed by Païdos provide space
for integration, re-entering education and counselling, make people more sensitive to
and prevent exclusion and improve understanding of problems linked to teenagers.
The CPPA centre caters for adolescents from 13 to 18 years of age who have dropped
out from school or an apprenticeship, with the objective to regain their self esteem, to
reintegrate them in the school system or in the job market. By making a self-portrait, a
project is drawn up for training or a profession. But it is often necessary to catch up on
schooling in order to be reintegrated into the system. From January 2009 a new CPPA
class was opened. This structure gives adolescents the possibility to catch up and work
towards the career path of their choice. The framework is interdisciplinary: medical,
pedagogical, educational, psychological. The courses take the form of themed
workshops, creative and sporting activities, and cultural exchanges. This project fills a
known gap in the educational system and facilitates the return to school of adolescents
at risk. Money raised will go towards this program.

Dr. Nicolas Liengme
Dr. Nicolas Liengme was born in 1970. He received his degree in Medicine
from the Geneva University in 1996. In this same year, he founded the
Association Païdos for which he has always been the president. This
voluntary work further led him to set up a Psycho Pediatric Center for
Adolescents, which he still manages at Païdos. One year later, he became
the first doctor to lay the groundwork for the Mobile Unit for Community
Care within the Community Medicine Department, a service that today
treats more than 1,000 disadvantaged patients per month in Geneva.
At the age of 28, after having worked as a pediatrician within the Services of Pediatric Surgery and
Pediatrics, and after having received the doctorate for his dissertation on the needs of marginalized
populations in Geneva, he was named the head of Multidisciplinary Adolescent Health unit at the Centre
Hospitalier Universitaire de Lausanne. In 1999, Dr. Liengme was named head of the Emergency unit within
the Medical-Educational Services, which he managed for 3 years.
Alongside his work for public institutions in Geneva, he also founded the Afghan Women and Children
association, which develops and supports numerous socio-educational and health projects in Afghanistan,
where he worked with support from the International Committee of the Red Cross. He built a team of
children’s mental health specialists, which led him to set up, two years later, the first clinic in Geneva with
departments focused on psychological health.
Dr. Liengme has largely contributed to the knowledge in psychology, psychotherapy and psychoeducation,
principally focused on the younger population, while he trained more than 70 professionals in this domain.
He has supported thousands of adolescents in Geneva and elsewhere to re-integrate in society and get
back on track when their internal and external resources had left them in distress and misery.

An E v ening with th e Legendary Woody Allen
Be the guest of Woody Allen, the famous film producer,
in New York where Woody plays clarinet with the Eddy
Davis New Orleans Jazz Band.
A VIP table awaits you at the legendary Carlyle Hotel

multi-talented American film director, writer, comic
and jazz clarinettist whilst enjoying classic dishes of the
Carlyle restaurant like the succulent and rare fillet mignon. In this intimate venue,

observers at a private jam session, as band members take turns to play the lead and
the evening typically winds up with just Woody singing solo with the banjo player.
Whilst other audience members might jostle for photos and autographs at the end
of the evening, you will take home your own personal piece of Woody memorabilia
as a fantastic memento of an exceptional night. Priceless
