Toujours guidé par les liens qui relient l’histoire aux objets, l’artiste joaillier Philippe TOURNAIRE développe
sa collection de montres. L’inspiration historique et architecturale caractérise ces montres de haute joaillerie qui
prennent le contre-pied de l’horlogerie actuelle. Le boîtier de la montre «les portes du temps» est en or 18 carats
(procédé de fonte traditionnel) jaune, blanc ou rouge et intégralement fabriqué à la main et à l’unité dans les
Ateliers TOURNAIRE. Le concept de ce «bijou» horloger d’exception raconte l’histoire de l’humanité à travers
des portes célèbres: la mégalithique, celles des Lionnes à Mycènes ou de Persépolis, la porte ronde de Chine, la
porte
Inca ou encore la porte Romane. Les quatre angles sont décorés de colonnes doriques qui donnent à la montre
plus de force et de caractère. l’opposé du remontoir, une porte évoquant soit le monde inca soit une connexion
Internet.
Always guided by t he connect ions between objects and history, the Artist jeweller Philippe Tournaire is
developing his watches collection. Architectural and historical inspiration distinguishes these watches of high
jewellery that are taking the opposite course of the present days’ clock and watch making. The watches’ case “les
Portes du temps” is in yellow, pink, and white 18 carats’ gold (traditional melting down process) and entirely
one unit handmade in Tournaire’s work shop. This watch and clock making- exceptional – jewel concept counts
human history through famous doors: The Megalithic, the Mycenaean ones with the lioness, and the Persepolis,
the round door of China, the Incas’ door, and the Roman one. The 4 corners are decorated with Doric columns
that give to the watch more character and strength. Opposite to the winder, one can see a door that conjures up
whether the Incas’ world or an Internet connection.
