To celebrate its 4th edition, "Brussels in the Sky
To celebrate its 4th edition, "Brussels in the Sky" will showcase a value
that Brussels holds particularly dear: Friendship.
Dinner in the Sky first saw the light of day in Brussels in 2006. In the nine
years since its advent, this surreal dining concept has gained worldwide
notoriety and has built up a solid reputation among Michelin-starred
Chefs, the most famous of whom have already cooked up a storm in its
kitchen. Recently, Heston Blumenthal, Frédéric Anton and Emmanuel
Renaut joined the select club of Michelin-starred Chefs who have cooked
under the stars.
From Brussels and Belgian by birth, Dinner in the Sky has proved a
heavenly success across fifty different countries, including most recently
Norway, Tasmania and Greece. Soon Singapore, Egypt and Georgia will be
opening their skies to this amazing flying table. When Dinner in the Sky
decided to share its success with its hometown, it gave birth to the
“Brussels in the Sky” festival, in partnership with Visit Brussels.
In just three years "Brussels in the Sky" has become a major event on the
Brussels gastronomic scene, and has been designed to highlight Brussels’
Michelin-starred cuisine through seven of its greatest Michelin-starred
Chefs.
This year, friendship oblige, not one but two Chefs will cook for 22 guests
seated around Dinner in the Sky. In fact, each of the seven Brussels Chefs
will take it in turns to invite a talented "chef friend" to cook 84 dinners
side by side in a completely unique event. In total, over 30 stars will
delight the senses of the participants of these extraordinary feasts.
This 4th edition of "Brussels in the Sky" will be held from the 1st to the
28th of June at the Cinquantenaire. Every day, one of the seven Chefs will
prepare and personally serve up a gourmet 5-course menu, hand in hand
with one of the 28 guest Chefs, for the duration of one lunch and two
dinners daily (19:30 and 21:30).
