the Ballymun Music Programme attracted the attention of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, who agreed to record the

the former Yugoslavia, they live in a block of flats in an infamous suburb of Ljubljana, Fužine. Hanging out in front
of their flats, they share their frustrations with each other. Marko has quit playing basketball; Adi is upset by his
brother’s drug addiction; Aco feels he is being given a hard time by everyone in his life; Dejan is anxious about
his mother’s wish to move away, as he doesn’t want to leave his friends and everything he knows in Fužine. One

housing estate for fifteen years. During this time he has witnessed the effects of increasing funding cuts to the
area, including the demolition of six of its seven tower blocks. In an effort to challenge the negative views many
still hold of the area – views that have the potential to deny a future for Ballymun's youth – Cooney sets out to
produce a collection of music that will give these young people a voice. Working with composer Daragh O'Toole,
the Ballymun Music Programme attracted the attention of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, who agreed to record the
music in a unique collaboration with the students. As you will see and hear, the results are breathtaking.

Toronto-based experimental filmmaker Stephen Broomer is one of contemporary Canadian cinema's most
poetic voices. His layered, densely textured celluloid tone poems (sounding echoes of David Rimmer and Philip
Hoffman) probe relationships between landscape and desire, architecture and nature, physicality and spirituality,
while also exploring the tangible yet ghostly experience of memory. A filmmaker and film preservationist (often
working in 8mm and 16mm formats), Broomer has a BFA in Film and Video Production, an MA in Film Studies,
and is presently completing his doctoral dissertation on the origins of the Canadian avant-garde film.
ALL THE WOMEN tells the story of Nacho, a middle-aged man with serious financial troubles. After a desperate
attempt for extra cash goes awry, Nacho decides to turn to others for help, but his abrasive personality has left
him rather unpopular among his family and friends. Presuming that any man is as unscrupulous as he is, Nacho
decides to turn to the various women in his life for help. Facing several female perspectives, including that of his
ex, mother, sister-in-law and shrink, Nacho gets much more than he bargained for and this, surprisingly, sets him

DÉJÀ VU focuses on a day in the life of Mihai, a middle-aged man struggling with the recent separation from
his wife of fifteen years. We meet Mihai as he plans to travel to the airport for a vacation with his long-time
mistress. Shot almost entirely without cuts from a head-mounted camera, we see Mihai's story literally unfold
from his own perspective, now and then acquainting us with the déjà vu experience through cut-away shots
of his many memories. Director Dan Chisu creates an extraordinary film exploring the perplexities of memory,
done so through a story and style that is increasingly engrossing as the film progresses, as memory and reality
become less and less distinct. English sub-titles.
DÉJÀ VU se concentre sur une journée dans la vie de Mihai, un homme d'âge mûr dont le mariage de 15 ans
vient de prendre fin. Nous le rencontrons sur le chemin de l’aéroport. Il part en vacances avec sa maîtresse de
longue date. Tourné presque sans coupures, à l’aide d’une caméra montée sur la tête, ce film nous permet de
voir l’histoire de Mihai de son propre point de vue. De temps à autre, des plans de ses nombreux souvenirs nous

Pitstra’s film is an audacious hybrid between fiction and documentary, showing contemporary Tunisia shortly
after the Jasmine Revolution in 2011. In this insightful drama about a society perched between dictatorship and
democracy, we follow the young DVD salesman Abdallah, who becomes increasingly frustrated by his inability
to realize a fulfilling existence. After meeting the Dutch tourist Anna, he starts dreaming of a better life in
Europe, or ‘Die Welt,’ as his father calls the promised land on the other side of the Mediterranean. Will Abdallah
succeed - as his father did in the past - in getting to Europe with the help of a Dutch woman? Or will he have to
find another way to escape his native country? And does he want to leave at all? Says the Hollywood Reporter,
Pitstra’s film is “…a smart, funny and emotionally engaging rites-of-passage drama.” English sub-titles.
Audacieux hybride entre la la fiction et le documentaire, le film de Pitstra dépeint la Tunisie contemporaine peu
après la Révolution du Jasmin en 2011. Dans ce drame lucide montrant une société hésitant entre dictature et
démocratie, nous suivons Abdallah, jeune vendeur de DVD, de plus en plus frustré par son incapacité à réussir.
Suite à sa rencontre avec Anna, une touriste néerlandaise, il commence à rêver d’une vie meilleure en Europe,«
Die Welt », comme l'appelle son père, cette terre promise, de l’autre côté de la Méditerranée. Abdullah réussirat-il, comme son père jadis, à se rendre en Europe avec l’aide de la Néerlandaise? Devra-t-il trouver un autre
moyen de quitter son pays natal? D’ailleurs, veut-il vraiment partir ? Selon le Hollywood Reporter, le film de
Pitstra est «.un drame intelligent, drôle et touchant sur les rites de passage.» Sous-titres en anglais.
Dans ce film d’animation, l’artiste et réalisatrice d’origine lettone Signe Baumane livrecinq contes fantastiques
basés sur la lutte contre la maladie mentale menée par les valeureuses femmes de sa famill. Avec ironie,
humour et pour retrouver sa propre santé mentale, elle explore la dynamique des diktats familiaux et sociaux
pour porter un regard très personnel sur la maladie mentale. Son imagination débridée crée des histoires
audacieuses décrivant l’art, l’amour, la nature, les affaires et les bouleversements survenus en Europe de l’Est.
Combinant l’image, l'image avec papier mâché et l’animation peinte à la main, Baumane crée un film poignant,
magnifiquement rendu à l’écran, et d’une grande complexité. Sous-titres en anglais.

VIS-A-VIS nous fait suivre un jeune réalisateur qui peine à terminer son premier long métrage autobiographique.
Pour donner forme à son script, il se cloître sur l’île de Vis avec son premier rôle masculin. À mesure que les
conflits artistiques s’entremêlent aux conflits personnels, la frontière entre réalité et fiction s’estompe de façon
révélatrice et amusante. Le talentueux scénariste et réalisateur Marasovi nous livre ici un humour vif et réfléchi
qui rappelle le meilleur Woody Allen. Sous-titres en anglais.

Toronto-based experimental filmmaker Stephen Broomer is one of contemporary Canadian cinema's most
poetic voices. His layered, densely textured celluloid tone poems (sounding echoes of David Rimmer and Philip
Hoffman) probe relationships between landscape and desire, architecture and nature, physicality and spirituality,
while also exploring the tangible yet ghostly experience of memory. A filmmaker and film preservationist (often
working in 8mm and 16mm formats), Broomer has a BFA in Film and Video Production, an MA in Film Studies,
and is presently completing his doctoral dissertation on the origins of the Canadian avant-garde film.
ALL THE WOMEN tells the story of Nacho, a middle-aged man with serious financial troubles. After a desperate
attempt for extra cash goes awry, Nacho decides to turn to others for help, but his abrasive personality has left
him rather unpopular among his family and friends. Presuming that any man is as unscrupulous as he is, Nacho
decides to turn to the various women in his life for help. Facing several female perspectives, including that of his
ex, mother, sister-in-law and shrink, Nacho gets much more than he bargained for and this, surprisingly, sets him
on a curious and amusing path to self-discovery. English sub-titles.
Broomer’s films have screened at venues in the Americas, Europe, and Asia including Cinematheque Ontario
(Toronto), the Images Festival (Toronto), the WNDX Festival of the Moving Image (Winnipeg, Manitoba), the
Diagonal Film Archive (Seoul, Korea), the Gene Siskel Film Center (Chicago, USA), the Erata Contemporary
Art Museum (St. Petersburg, Russia), the Nomadic Academy of Experimental Arts (Harakka Island, Helsinki),
Kunstwerke (Cologne, Germany), the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival (Oberhausen, Germany), and
Imagem-Contato Festival (Sao Paolo, Brazil).
ALL THE WOMEN raconte l’histoire de Nacho, un homme d’âge mûr aux prises avec de sérieux problèmes
financiers. Après l’échec d’une tentative désespérée pour rétablir sa situation monétaire, Nacho se tourne sans
succès vers sa famille et ses amis, mais sa personnalité corrosive l’a rendu impopulaire. Présumant que tous
les hommes sont aussi peu scrupuleux que lui, Nacho fait alors appel aux femmes de sa vie (son ex, sa mère, sa
belle-sœur et sa psy) de qui il obtient beaucoup plus qu’il avait espéré. Contre toute attente, cela l’entraîne sur

diners fleeing in all directions, Ebba calls for her husband Tomas as she tries to protect their children. Tomas,
meanwhile, is running for his life... The anticipated disaster failed to occur, and yet the family’s world has been
shaken to its core, a question mark hanging over their father in particular. Tomas and Ebba’s marriage now hangs
in the balance as Tomas struggles desperately to reclaim his role as family patriarch. Premiered at the 2014
Toronto International Film Festival, FORCE MAJEURE is a stunning film from a rising directorial star in Swedish
cinema, Ruben Östlund. English sub-titles.
Une famille suédoise profite de vacances de ski dans les Alpes françaises. Le soleil brille et les pentes sont
spectaculaires mais, à l’heure du lunch, dans un restaurant de montagne, une avalanche met tout sens dessus
dessous. Les dîneurs fuient dans tous les sens. Ebba, la mère, appelle son mari Tomas au secours pour l’aider
à protéger leurs enfants, mais Tomas a pris ses jambes à son cou. Le désastre prévu ne survient pas, mais les
