It will be ready to be used starting on the 9th International Abilympics in Bordeaux 2016. It is a great improvement of the evaluation process for Abilympics events, David Hoey (WorldSkills International CEO) and Toshiharu Kobayashi (IAF President) address a message: “Abilympics has always had an important link to WorldSkills. There is commonality with our respective visions and aims and the IAF and RI play a very important role in society, that is why it is a pleasure to share our marking expertise with them. Since 2005, we have been building, improving, testing, and using our Competition Information System (CIS) throughout the world at national, regional and international WorldSkills events. The CIS is a custom-built software (by WorldSkills International) that manages all aspects of the marking and results of each skill competition. It is used to create or import marking schemes, generate marking sheets and record or calculate marks for each Competitor. It ensures that these marks accord with pre-defined rules for each competition. It calculates all results for every competition and lists all medal winners, and can also generate overall results for each Member. There are also many reporting and analysis tools available. We are glad to share our CIS with Abilympics for their events.” “On behalf of International Abilympic Federation (IAF), I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to WorldSkills International (WSI) for letting us use the Competition Information System (CIS) in the 9th IA. It is very important to have a fair evaluation process in the skills competitions. By using the CIS, which has been developed by WSI for regional and international WorldSkills events, the evaluation process at the 9th IA will be significantly improved. WSI’s accumulated expertise in the organization of skills competitions over more than 60 years has been and will continue to be an enormous help to us in the context of the Abilympics and running the event in the best possible way. The cooperation of WSI is always greatly appreciated by us at IAF.” Toshiharu Kobayashi, President International Abilympic Federation David Hoey, CEO WorldSkills International ABILYMPICS FRANCE, 102 avenue de Canéjan, 33600 PESSAC – France Tel. +33 (0)5 47 50 05 57 www.abilympics-france.fr
