ELECTRO-MUSCULATION
Muscular contractions are provoked by externally generated and controled (power generator) electrical
impulses through electrodes patched on the skin, directly in contact with the targeted muscle zone.
To whom is it for?
To all, at any age, for every sports amator to high profiled sport competitors.
What is its range of use?
The only counter-indications are people wearing paecemakers and any type of metalic body
implants. Pregnant women (please see "Counter-indications - Safety measures").
Advices :
Before you start your electrostimulator for your first session, please take the time to read the user's
manual.
Visible results can be seen after several sessions, the number of thoses session varies according to
the user's physical profile.
If you are subject to a chronical disease, we strongly advise you to see a doctor before practising
any session.

SPORT-ELEC® designs and manufactures all its electro muscle toning products in France, more
specifically in Normandy, cradle of the French electronics industry.
Standards
Appliances are in compliance with the European directive on electromagnetic compatibility :
EC(89/336/CEE) CEM in accordance with standards EN 60601-1-2 and EN 60601-1-2-10 art 36.
No other standards would be able to prove better effectiveness and better quality in electro muscle
toning appliances for the general public.
The Medical CE corresponds to the requirements of use in a hospital environment for medical
appliances and for therapists only.

SPORT-ELEC®’S ELECTRICAL FLOWS
The programmes on appliances are based on currents that have a precise action on muscles.
The combination of frequencies and pulse widths represents formulas of electro muscle toning for a specific muscular work
target.
Each formula is exclusive to SPORT-ELEC®.
• The exito-motor electrical flow characteristics
The electrical flow transmitted to the muscle is defined by different parameters :
- The intensity : it is measured in milli-amperes (mA) and determines the muscle's contraction intensity.
- The frequency : it is measured in Hertz (Hz) and represents the number of impulsions per second
- The impulsion’s width : it is measured in Micro-seconds (µs), it allows the modulation in power of the impulsions.
Every muscle has a its own receptivity, and some are difficultly excitable because not often solicited. These muscles need
then a broader impulsion width.
• The electrical current's definition
The electrical flow used in the SPORT-ELEC® products is biphasic, this is the most soft and efficient type of flow in the
electromusculation field.
SPORT-ELEC® has created different programs containing combinations of frequencies so as the electrical flow scans different
ranges of frequencies, thus recruiting many different levels of muscular fibbers.
These programs are all developed so the flow diffusion corresponds to a physiological need.

The current is passed on to the muscle through electrodes.
There are 3 types of electrodes :
- the adhesive electrodes
- the non-adhesive electrodes
- the integrated electrodes

The adhesive electrodes are to be used with wired electro-musculation devices*.

The adhesive electrodes are made from conductor materials and hydrophilic substances allowing the current to be diffused.
It is made from a carbon film and a conductor gel.
The bigger the electrode, the gentler the diffusion of the current.
They are in accordance with the European directive CE (93/42/CEE) relative to medical devices.
