He launched ChinaContact in 2005 after working in Shanghai and Beijing for three years and focuses his consultancy practice on China's tourism and hospitality sectors. Roy also founded China Edge in 2013 as a training and advisory business for UK retailers and hospitality providers. © China Edge Limited, 2014 Roy holds a bachelor's degree in Chinese and Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. He has made his career in travel and tourism business development with an emphasis on China. He has a deep understanding of China's culture and business practices developed from academia, public and private sector work. He is an experienced travel marketing and distribution executive involved in ecommerce, online travel and hospitality. Roy held senior business development positions at Gullivers Tr a v e l A s s o c i a t e s & Octopustravel.com (London & China), Expedia (London) and Travel Leaders Group (New York). Roy serves pro-bono as Director of Eco and Heritage Tourism at JUCCCE, a China based NGO. Sylvie Chen, Director of Opera-ons Sylvie has 10 years of experience in travel agency product design, marke-ng, sales and tour leading. Manuela Barba, Sales Manager Manuela holds two Master degrees, one in Intercultural Rela-ons and Interna-onal Coopera-on from the university of Lille where she was also in charge of organizing conferences, and one in Business and Management.
