Tormaresca Bocca di Lupo Castel del Monte DOC 2007 Castel del Monte DOC, Italy $415 $310/btl Tormaresca is the fruit of the Antinori family's investment in the Puglian region since July 1998. The grapes were picked slightly overripe, in order to enhance their potential phenol. Bocca di Lupo is the cru production Tormaresca, dark ruby color, deep and layered scents: cassis, black cherry sottospirito, black cherries, cocoa, licorice, cardamom and cinchona. Rounds off a subtle balsamic notes. In the mouth it is vehement, warm, rich, elegant and responsive. The tanninoè silky and very long persistence and balsamic. Aged for 14 months in French and Hungarian oak barrels. RP 91: The 2007 Aglianico Castel del Monte Bocca di Lupo shows a more refined, domesticated expression of Aglianico. The 2007 makes up for that with superb textural finesse and elegance. Sweet, silky tannins frame layers of dark red fruit in this fles hy, supple wine.
