We have decided to bring together a fantastic selection of new, up
We have decided to bring together a fantastic selection of new, up and coming grapes, regions and styles of American wines. Some of our team have recently been visiting vineyards and meeting wine makers from California, Oregon and the Washington State, who emphasise modern winemaking techniques, whilst using unusual grapes for the location. Our sommelier’s selection is a great way for us to share some of our cellar treasures through a balanced selection available by the glass and by the carafe. Using the revolutionary Coravin system, we are now able to sample some of our finest wine in different measures. We are also organising ‘Sommelier’s Booths’, an exquisite experience at New Street Grill. These little gems means that with your food choices our sommelier will perfectly match specific wines to your menu – these will also run along a theme whether it be winemaker, country, region, grape variety or style of wine. Please ask your Sommelier for more details. We would like you to share our discovery and hope you’ll enjoy. The domaine sits at the foot of the Massif des Maures mountain range, 20 minutes from Toulon. With a unique microclimate, the estate benefits from both the cooling mistral winds and the shade of the mountains above. This shade gives a longer ripening period in the crucial weeks prior to harvest. Nine noble grape varieties are found at Rimauresq, including Cinsault, Mourvedre, and Tibouren for the rosés. 2013 2013 Domaine de Rimauresq, Cru Classé Domaine de Rimauresq, Cru Classé magnum 5 39 77 U.S.A. Referred to by Robert Parker as one of the stars of the Northern Rhone, François Villard’s strategy is to allow for the most optimal ripening possible. His wines, as a result, are rich and concentrated with complex aromas of peaches, apricots, honeysuckle, and honey. The whites are often allowed to develop botrytis and most of the wines pass through wood ageing for an extended amount of time to prepare them for a very long life in bottle. 2010 2010 Condrieu ‘Le Grand Vallon’ Condrieu ‘De Poncins’ 99 105 12 FRANCE WHITE WINE LANGUEDOC – ROUSSILLON 2013 2013 Bergerie de la Bastide Viognier ‘Mas La Chevalière’ 22 32 2013 Côteaux du Languedoc – La Clape Château de la Negly ‘Brise Marine’ 39 2009 1999 Côteaux du Languedoc Clos Marie ‘Manon’ Domaine Peyre Rose ‘Oro’ 56 96 2012 Collioure Domaine de la Rectorie ‘L’Argile’ 75 2009 Vin de Pays de l`Herault Les Etats d’Ame du Mas Jullien 70 2010 Côtes du Roussillon Domaine Gardiés ‘Les Glaciaires’ 45 2011 Limoux Les Caves du sieur d’ Arques ‘Toques et Clochers’ 36 2012 2012 2009 Vin de Pays des Côtes Catalanes Domaine Gauby ‘Les Calcinaires’ Domaine Matassa ‘Cuvée Marguerite’ Le Clos du Rouge Gorge 51 65 66 2013 South West Cuvée JeanPaul 19.90 Collection: Laurent Vaillé spent his early career training under such masters as JeanFrançois CocheDury (Meursault), Gérard Chave (Hermitage), and Eloi Durrbach (Provence), he settled in the l’Hérault of the Languedoc and purchased his own land in 1989, near Aniane. The simultaneous restraint and power of his wines makes them ideal for aging. His area of the Languedoc has since become known to produce some of the greatest wines in the region. The advantage of SGC is to be able to use only the exceptional parcels of our choice. A proud collaboration of ours is with the World Champion Sommelier and most awarded man in the wine industry, Gerard Basset. In the capable hands of Alain Dugas the estate has been making wines with a focus on organic viticulture. In 2008, Alain Dugas retired, and Christian Voeux took over from him. La Nerthe's wine is firmly in the modernist camp of accessible Châteauneufs softer tannins than in Beaucastel or Vieux Télégraphe, and ready to drink earlier. Almost all La Nerthe wines are vinified in wood, many in small barrels, which is rare in Châteauneuf. No filtering takes place. The white wines are richer in fruit than most other white Châteauneufs. 2013 2011 1999 ChâteauneufduPape Blanc ChâteauneufduPape ChâteauneufduPape ‘Cuvée des Cadettes’ magnum 29 95 92 382 FRANCE RED WINE 2009 2009 2012 2011 2010 2007 2011 2009 2012 1997 2007 LANGUEDOC-ROUSSILLON Coteaux du Languedoc – Pic Saint Loup Clos Marie ‘La Metairie du Clos’ Côteaux du Languedoc – Terrasses du Larzac Mas Jullien Côteaux du Languedoc – Montpeyroux Domaine d’Aupilhac Faugères Domaine Léon Barral ‘Jadis’ Saint Chinian Vignoble Terres Falmet ‘L’Ivresse des Cimes’ Domaine Canet Valette ‘Maghani’ Corbieres Château d’Aussieres, Baron de Rothschild Lafite Vin de Pays du Gard Roc d’Anglade Vin de Pays de l’Hérault Mas de Daumas Gassac ‘Haute Vallée du Gassac’ Domaine de la Grange des Pères Vin de France Domaine Zelige Caravent ‘Nuits d’Encre’ magnum 67 86 46 69 37 88 57 150 76 150 54 Collection: Every region has its stars and one of the Languedoc’s brightest is Domaine Peyre Rose. Former real estate agent Marlene Soria stumbled across this beautiful property back in the late 80’s when she was showing it to a client – rather than sell it to them, she bought it herself! After discovering that part of the property she had bought was some old vineyards, Marlene embarked on her new hobby by producing two spectacular Syrah based wines – Clos des Cistes (15% Grenache) and Clos Leone (15% Mourverdre). 1999 2003 2002 1998 RoussanneVermentino ‘Oro’, Coteaux du Languedoc ‘Clos Syrah Léone’, Coteaux du Languedoc magnum ‘Clos de Cistes’, Coteaux du Languedoc magnum ‘Clos des Cistes’, Coteaux du Languedoc magnum 30 96 299 240 320 FRANCE RED WINES SOUTH WEST 2010 Cahors Clos Triguedina 53 2007 Madiran Château Bouscassé ‘Vieilles Vignes’ 77 PROVENCE 2001 Vin de Pays BouchesduRhône Domaine de Trévallon 125 2011 Bandol Château SaintAnne 71 LOIRE VALLEY ANJOU-SAUMUR 2009 2008 Saumur Champigny Clos Rougeard Clos Rougeard ‘Les Poyeux’ 115 149 31 ITALY RED WINES VENETO 2012 Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Le Salette ‘I Progni’ 58 PIEDMONT 2011 2010 2005 Barolo Giacomo Fenocchio Cascina Adelaide ‘4 Vigne’ Poderi Aldo Conterno ‘Cicala’ 95 99 185 2013 2012 Barbera d’Alba Mauro Molino Azienda Agricola E. In the ancient th (14 Century) Abbey, he created his first single vineyard (cru) Marcenasco Barolo. Between the middle of the 70’s and the end of the 80’s, Renato Ratti became an important point of reference for Langhe and Italian wines in general. He was elected president of the Barolo Consortium and subsequently General Director of the Asti Consortium. He directly participated in the drafting of the rules and regulations governing the appellations of Alba wines and was particularly active in those regarding the coveted “DOCG” (guaranteed) label. Today, his son Pietro is here to guarantee the continuation of that mission of vinification and refinement. 2012 2012 2010 2009 2007 2006 2005 Barbera d’Asti Nebbiolo d’Alba ‘Occhetti’ Barolo Rocche Barolo Rocche Barolo Rocche Barolo Rocche Barolo Rocche 45 48 135 160 160 160 160 32 ITALY RED WINE TUSCANY 2013 2011 2011 2008 1998 1995 1995 Tua Rita ‘Rosso dei Notri’ Testamatta ‘It’s a Game’ Testamatta ‘Soffocone di Vincigliate’ Tenuta Sette Ponti ‘Oreno’ Frescobaldi Luce Frescobaldi Luce Solaia, Tenuta Antinori 43 62 87 120 180 225 290 2009 2007 2007 2001 Brunello di Montalcino Conti Costanti Silvio Nardi ‘Vigneto Manachiara’ Lisini Silvio Nardi ‘Vigneto Manachiara’ 110 180 117 198 2001 2010 Chianti Classico Giorgio Primo Fèlsina ‘Berardenga’ 140 62 PUGLIA 2010 Salice Salentino Mabis ‘Casato di Melzi’ Riserva 32 2010 Primitivo di Manduria Vigneti del Salento ‘Oversettanta’ 69 SICILY 2013 2013 2010 45 32 74 Nero d’Avola, Feudo Maccari Baglio Gibellina ‘U. In 1953, Jacques Sauvage was awarded feudal tenure over Yquem. Shortly after taking over the property, the Sauvage family built the present Chateau in Sauternes that we know today. When Chateau D’ Yquem is first bottled, it shows a dark yellow or gold hue. With aging, the color changes and begins getting darker. 40 year old Yquems could resemble caramel, while bottles twice that age, could have the color of dark coffee. Something else to consider, when Yquem is young, not more than 25 years after the vintage, the flavors will better resemble honey, drenched tropical fruit. As the wine ages further, often those yellow tropical fruit flavors fade and tasters experience flavors of caramel, burnt toast, spice and crème brûlée. 1998 1990 1989 1988 1986 1983 Château d’Yquem, 1er Cru Classé Supérieur Château d’Yquem, 1er Cru Classé Supérieur Château d’Yquem, 1er Cru Classé Supérieur Château d’Yquem, 1er Cru Classé Supérieur Château d’Yquem, 1er Cru Classé Supérieur Château d’Yquem, 1er Cru Classé Supérieur 2010 2004 1990 1989 1989 1988 Sauternes Château Roumieu Rousset Peyraguey Château La Tour Blanche, Château Suduiraut Château DoisyVédrines, 2 eme Cru Classé Château LafauriePeyraguey, 1er Cru Classé 37 375ml 375ml 375ml 185 545 265 625 485 585 60 106 195 199 96 137 SWEET-WINE FRANCE LOIRE VALLEY 2010 Coteaux du Layon Domaine Patrick Baudouin ‘Les Côteaux’ 60 1971 Vouvray Moelleux Domaine Huet ‘Le Mont’ 350 SOUTH WEST 2008 Gaillac Doux Domaine de Rotier ‘Renaissance’ 500ml 58 2010 Monbazillac Domaine de Grange Neuve 500ml 28 ITALY 2011 Sicily Passito di Pantelleria, Ben Ryé, Donnafugata 140 SPAIN 2010 Málaga Telmo Rodrìguez ‘Mr Mountain Wine’ 48 GERMANY MOSEL SAAR RUWER 1999 Riesling Auslese Egon Müller ’Scharzhofberger’ 258 HUNGARY 2008 2006 TokajiAszu 5 Puttonyos Royal Tokaji, ‘Blue Label’ Disznókö 500ml 500ml 78 90 2011 Tokaji LateHarvest Disznókö 500ml 41 38 SWEET-WINE NEW ZEALAND 2009 Gewurztraminer Fromm Winery ‘Late Harvest’, Marlborough 375ml 48 500ml 95 375ml 60 SOUTH AFRICA 2007 Muscat d’Alexandrie Klein Constancia ‘Vin de Constance’, Constantia USA 2006 Zinfandel Edmeades, Late Harvest ‘Perli’ CANADA 2011 Riesling Peller Estates ‘Ice Wine’, Niagara Peninsula (VQA) 375ml 99 2012 Cabernet Franc Peller Estates ‘Ice Wine’, Niagara Peninsula (VQA) 375ml 120 500ml 32 ARGENTINA 2013 Torrontès Zuccardi ‘Tardio Reserva’, Mendoza 39 FORTIFIED WINE FRANCE RHÔNE VALLEY 2006 Rasteau Domaine Gourt de Mautens 134 LANGUEDOC ROUSSILLON 2010 Muscat de SaintJean de Minervois Clos du Gravillas ‘Douce Providence’ 375ml 34 2000 Rivesaltes Ambré Domaine Cazes 375ml 39 SPAIN Sherry-Manzanilla de Sanlucar-Xeres-Jerez 1968 Oloroso Gonzalez Byass ‘Anada’ 150 PORTUGAL PORT NV 10 yo 20 yo 30 yo NV 2008 2002 1998 1990 1985 1982 1980 1969 Graham’s ‘Six Grapes’ W&J Graham’s Tawny W&J Graham’s Tawny W&J Graham’s Tawny W&J Graham’s ‘Fine White Port’ Quinta do Passadouro, Late Bottled Vintage Graham’s ‘Quinta dos Malvedos’ Dow’s ‘Quinta Senhora da Ribeira’ Quinta do Vesuvio Dow’s Graham’s ‘Single Harvest’ Tawny Warre’s Graham’s ‘Single Harvest’ Tawny 375ml 40 57 105 115 38 72 38 115 150 135 180 140 350 MADEIRA 5 yo 10 yo 10 yo 20 yo 1920 Blandy’s ‘Alvada’ Blandy’s ‘Malmsey’ Blandy’s ‘Verdelho’ Blandy’s ‘Terrantes’ Blandy’s ‘Bual’ 500ml 500ml 500ml 500ml 40 41 56 56 130 560
