Anthem: Cantique de Jean Racine
O Word, truly one with the Most High,
our only hope,
eternal daylight of the earth and heavens,
as we break the silence of the peaceful night,
Saviour Divine, turn your eyes towards us!
Répands sur nous le feu
Anoint us with the fire
de ta grâce puissante,
of your all-powerful grace,
que tout l'enfer fuie au son de ta voix.
and may Hell flee at the sound of your voice.
Dissipe le sommeil d'une âme languissante, Dispel the drowsiness from our listless souls
qui la conduit à l'oubli de tes lois!
which makes them forgetful of your laws!
Ô Christ, sois favorable à ce peuple fidèle
O Christ, look kindly on this faithful flock
pour te bénir maintenant rassemblé.
now met together here to bless your name.
Reçois les chants qu'il offre
Hear our voices as they praise
à ta gloire immortelle,
your everlasting glory,
et de tes dons qu'il retourne comblé!
and may we leave enriched with all your gifts.
Verbe égal au Très-Haut,
notre unique espérance,
Jour éternel de la terre et des cieux,
de la paisible nuit nous rompons le silence,
Divin Sauveur, jette sur nous les yeux!

Sermon
Affirmation: We belong to God, creator of all that is and all that is to come,
abundant provider of the gifts in this life and the gifts in our own hearts. It is
God alone who gives life, who is generous beyond measure with grace and blessing.
We follow Christ, whom God sent to teach and heal, to show us the way to live,
with love and trust, joy and generosity. In this faith Jesus gave of himself,
even his very life. He was crucified and buried; yet God raised him from death,
and he lives among us, and grants his spirit to us.
We live by that Holy Spirit, and entrust ourselves to her guidance and strength.
As members of the church, the Body of Christ, we commit ourselves to lives of love
and justice, rejoicing in the power of forgiveness, the reality of resurrection, and
the mystery of eternal life.
Amen
The Offering
Glory to God the Father, the unbegotten One;
All honour be to Jesus, his sole begotten Son;
And to the Holy Spirit - the perfect Trinity.
Let all the worlds give answer, ‘Amen, so let it be’.
