Reason why you
are writing
My teacher gave me your address and I am writing to tell you about myself.
(raison)
My name is Martin Collin and I was born in Manchester. I am 13 years old.
I am quite tall and I am rather slim. I have got long wavy blond hair, blue eyes and a
round face.
I am Cancer. I am supposed to be sensitive and protective and to tell you the truth I think
I am.
In my free time, I love playing basketball with my neighbours and I’m crazy about
listening to music especially pop music at night. I enjoy watching all sorts of movies on TV
with my Mum and I’m fond of sending and receiving mails. I am much attached to my
family, well to my parents and my dog Poppy because I am an only child. But, I consider
my best friend Tom to be a brother.
To tell you more about my personality, I think I am very helpful and friendly but I am
sometimes forgetful. I forgot my keys the other day and had to wait for my mum for two
hours in the rain because I had also forgotten my mobile. Of course!
That’s all for now.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon,
Closing a letter (salutation de fin)
Best wishes,
Martin
