There is a world where the Bears
live above ground in their cities
and the rodents live below in in
their underground ones in mutual fear and hate. When Celestine,
an apprentice mouse dentist, and
Ernest, a poor street Bear musician, start to become friends
they find themselves rejected
from their respective worlds.

Dans le monde conventionnel des ours, il est mal
vu de se lier d’amitié avec une souris. Et pourtant,
Ernest, gros ours marginal, clown et musicien, va
accueillir chez lui la petite Célestine, une orpheline
qui a fui le monde souterrain des rongeurs. Ces
deux solitaires vont se soutenir et se réconforter, et
bousculer ainsi l’ordre établi.

As a fan of movies and popcorn, I believe the showing of
films with a Christian message is a great way to bring
Christ to people through art and entertainment.
Étant une enthousiaste des films et du pop-corn, je crois
que montrer des films contenant un message chrétien est
une excellente façon de porter le Christ au peuple par
l’entremise des arts et du divertissement.

Language Film. This is a Polish language movie with English sub-titles.

sub-titles on Wednesday, January 28.

Dans la Pologne des années 60, avant de prononcer ses
voeux, Anna, jeune orpheline élevée au couvent, part à
la rencontre de sa tante, seul membre de sa famille encore en vie. Elle découvre alors un sombre secret de
famille datant de l'occupation nazie. Mis en nomination
pour un “Golden Globe” en 2015 à titre de meilleur film
en langue étrangère. C’est un film de langue polonaise
avec sous-titres anglais. Nous montrerons ce film
mercredi, le 28 janvier avec sous-titres français.

achieve amazing educational success.

Un documentaire qui saisit bien comment un monastère
connu sous le nom de l’ Abbaye de Newark, situé dans
une cité reconnue pour son extrême pauvreté et son climat de violence, soit Newark, New Jersey, applique les
préceptes d’un livre vieux de près de 1500 ans dans son
école St-Benoît, école primaire et privée.
Les moines bénédictins transmettent à leurs élèves les
plus vulnérables un sens communautaire - AfricainsAméricains et Latinos adolescents - qui ensuite connaissent des succès éducationnels étonnants.

Molokai
The true story of the 19th century
priest, Father Daminen, who volunteered to go to the island of Molokai, to
console and care for the lepers. Gradually, Father Damien was able to gain
the trust of the lepers. Additionally, and
more importantly, his cries for additional help were heard and heeded by
others.

En 1872 le jeune prêtre catholique Damien est volontaire pour partir sur une île près de Hawaii pour
aider d'une population atteinte par la lèpre. Progessivement, le Père Damien a pu gagner la confiance des
lépreux. De plus, et davantage important, ses appels
pour de l’aide furent entendus par d’autres qui surent
contribuer à sa mission de charité.

October Baby
As the curtain rises, Hannah hesitantly
steps onto the stage for her theatrical debut in college. Yet before she can utter her
first lines, Hannah-unscripted-collapses in
front of the stunned audience. After countless medical tests, all signs point to one
underlying factor: Hannah's difficult birth.
This revelation is nothing compared to
what she then learns from her parents: she was actually
adopted ... after a failed abortion attempt.
We will show the movie with French sub-titles on
Wednesday, April 29.

Alors que le rideau se lève lentement, Hannah, d’un pas
hésitant, s’avance sur la scène pour son début théâtral
au collège. Mais avant qu’elle ne dise sa première
ligne, Hannah, (non au programme) s’affaisse, au grand
étonnement de l’auditoire. Après de nombreux examens médicaux, tout indique un facteur non soupçonné:
la naissance très difficile de Hannah. Cette révélation
n’est rien comparée à ce qu’elle apprend de ses parents:
en réalité, elle fut adoptée.. après un avortement raté.
Nous allons montrer le film avec des sous-titres en français le mercredi 29 avril.

Joseph of Nazareth: The Story of the
Man Closest to Christ will carry the
viewer back in time 2,000 years to the
dusty little town of Nazareth for a
glimpse inside the life of the “just
man” Joseph, guardian of the Redeemer, protector of the Holy Family.
Although not a single word of
Joseph’s was ever written, viewers will have the opportunity to personally come to know this humble man who
struggled to understand the profound mysteries of the
divine conception, virgin birth and the Incarnation of the
Son of God, and the incredible challenges of protecting
and raising Jesus amidst the threats on His life from the
moment of His birth.

JOSEPH DE NAZARETH: L’histoire d’un homme
très proche du Christ. Ce film permet au spectateur de
reculer de 2000 ans dans le passé et de se retrouver dans
le petit village de Nazareth pour avoir un aperçu de vie
de Joseph, “un homme juste”, gardien du Rédempteur et
protecteur de la Sainte Famille.
Bien que nous n’ayons aucune parole écrite de Joseph,
les gens auront l’occasion de connaître cet homme très
humble qui eut à se débattre pour comprendre les mystères de la divine conception, la naissance virginale et
l’incarnation du Fils de Dieu; il eut aussi à faire face à
de nombreux défis pour protéger et élever Jésus à travers les attentats contre sa vie dès le moment de sa naissance.
