The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation is responsible for the State’s
functions, tasks and duties in matters concerning Italy’s political, economic, social and cultural
relations with other countries; it is also in charge of representation, coordination and protection
of Italian interests abroad and of defining and implementing the Italian policy in the field of
international policy. In exercising its functions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International
Cooperation ensures the consistency of international and European activities of the
Administration with the objectives of international politics. The Ministry operates through a large
network of offices throughout the world: embassies, permanent missions to the international
organizations, special diplomatic delegations, consular offices and Italian cultural institutes.
Le Ministère des Affaires Etrangères et de la Coopération Internationale (MAECI) gère les
fonctions et les compétences de la République Italienne en matière de rapports politiques,
économiques, sociaux et culturels avec l’étranger. Dans la structure du MAECI, la Direction
Générale pour la Promotion du Système Pays soutient la projection de l’Italie vers l’étranger en
termes d’internationalisation des entreprises italiennes, de l’activité internationale des
autonomies territoriales, de la promotion culturelle en toute ses formes et de la coopération
scientifique et technologique. En ce qui concerne l’appui aux entreprises, le MAECI collabore
avec le Ministère du Développement Economique (MISE) et avec l’institut pour le Commerce
Extérieur (ICE) pour partager avec le secteur privé les informations nécessaires pour être actifs
sur les marchés internationaux et être au courant des meilleures opportunités dans chaque
Pays pour chaque secteur, de par l’expérience directe que le réseau diplomatique et consulaire
met à dispositions des entrepreneurs italiens, ainsi qu’à travers les missions de système que le
MAECI organise avec le MISE et l’ICE.

The Italian Ministry of Economic Development operates in four main fields: industrial policies,
energy, communications and internationalization policies. Its activities aim to support the
innovation, development and competitiveness of Italian economy at both national and
international levels. Among the activities of the Ministry of Economic Development, the policies
for the internationalization of enterprises and for the promotion of the Italian products abroad
are particularly important. Specifically, these policies are implemented through the following
activities: facilitation of trade with third countries (Trade Facilitation); guidelines and proposals
for the EU's trade policy; activation of the EU trade defense mechanisms (anti-dumping and
anti-subsidy measures, safeguard clauses); negotiation of multilateral trade agreements and
bilateral economic cooperation with third countries; promotion of new Italian investments
abroad and policies for attracting new foreign investments in Italy.
Le Ministère Italien du Développement Économique a quatre compétences principales: la
politique industrielle, la politique énergétique, les communications et les politiques pour
l'internationalisation. Ses activités visent à soutenir l'innovation, le développement et la
compétitivité de l'économie italienne, aux niveaux à la fois national et international. Parmi les
responsabilités du Ministère du développement économique, les politiques pour
l'internationalisation des entreprises et la promotion de produits italiens à l'étranger revêtent
une importance particulière. Plus précisément, ces politiques se concrétisent par les activités
suivantes: facilitation du commerce avec les pays tiers (Trade facilitation); orientations et
propositions pour la politique commerciale au sein de l'Union européenne; activation des
mécanismes de défense commerciale de l'UE (activités antidumping, antisubventions et
clauses de sauvegarde); négociation des accords commerciaux multilatéraux et coopération
économique bilatérale avec les pays tiers; promotion des nouveaux investissements italiens à
l'étranger et politiques pour l'attraction des nouveaux investissements étrangers en Italie.

The Ministry of Agriculture Food and Forestry Policies elaborates Italian policies in the
agricultural, forestry, agri-food and fisheries sectors at national, European and international
level. It consists of a Department for European and international policies, which deals with
market policies and liaises with the European Union in the process of elaboration and
implementation of the communitarian legislation; a Department for competitive policies, agrifood quality and fisheries, which is responsible for quality production and valorization of the
Italian agri-food products; a Central Inspection Service for quality protection and fraud
repression of agri-food products which, together with national police authorities, ensures the
consumers the high quality of products against counterfeiting agribusiness.
Le Ministère des Politiques Agricoles Alimentaires et des Forêts élabore les politiques
agricoles, forestières, agroalimentaires et de la pêche italiennes au niveau national, européen
et international. Il est composé par un Département de politique européenne et internationale,
qui s’occupe du marché et gère les relations avec l'Union européenne dans la formation et la
mise en œuvre de la législation communautaire; un Département des politiques de
concurrence, de qualité agro-alimentaire et de pêche, qui s’occupe de la valorisation des
produits agroalimentaires italiens ; un Service d’Inspection Central pour la protection de la
qualité et la répression des fraudes qui, tout comme les autorités nationales de police, assure
aux consommateurs la qualité des produits via l'action de contraste aux phénomènes de
contrefaçon agroalimentaire.

The Italian Trade Commission-ICE is the Government agency that supports the globalization of
Italian firms, under the strategies of the Ministry of Economic Development. ICE helps to
develop, facilitate and promote Italian economic and trade relations with foreign countries,
focusing on the needs of SME, their associations and partnerships. ICE sustains Italian firms in
their internationalization processes and promotes worldwide the marketing of Italian goods and
services, Italian investments, as well as the image of “Made in Italy” products around the world.
ICE works closely with the Italian Regions, the network of the Italian Chambers of Commerce,
business organizations and other public and private entities. ICE headquarters are in Rome,
with a large network of offices around the world and acts as “Trade Promotion Sections” of the
Italian Embassies or Consulates.
La Delegation Commercial d’Italie – ICE – est une agence gouvernementale qui apporte un
soutien à la globalisation des firmes italiennes sous la houlette du Ministère du Développement
Economique. ICE promeut, facilite et développe les relations économiques et commerciales de
l'Italie avec l'étranger avec une attention particulière envers les petites et moyennes
entreprises et différentes formes d'associations et de partenariats.
ICE accompagne les entreprises italiennes dans leur processus d'internationalisation et assure

The Italian Banking Association ABI is a voluntary non-profit organization. Its purpose is to
represent, defend and promote the interests of its member banks and financial intermediaries.
It works, in this framework, for the development of the awareness in society and within the
banking and financial system of the social and behavioral values that follow from
entrepreneurial principles and from the formation of open and competitive markets. Specifically,
ABI undertakes initiatives for the orderly, stable and efficient growth of the banking and
financial system, in a competitive outlook consistent with Italian and European Union Law. ABI
also represents the Italian credit and financial system in all international fora: above all, in view
of the continuous engagement and full competence involved, vis-à-vis the European Mortgage
Federation and the European Banking Federation.
L'Association Bancaire Italienne (ABI - Associazione Bancaria Italiana) est un organisme à but
non lucratif. Elle a pour mission de représenter, défendre et promouvoir les intérêts de ses
membres, composés de banques et d'intermédiaires financiers. C'est dans ce cadre qu'elle
effectue un travail de sensibilisation auprès de la société et des acteurs du système bancaire et
financier : elle cherche ainsi à mettre en avant les valeurs sociales et comportementales qui
découlent des principes entrepreneuriaux et de la formation de marchés ouverts et
concurrentiels. Plus précisément, l'ABI mène des initiatives soutenant la croissance efficace,
stable et ordonnée du système bancaire et financier, dans une perspective concurrentielle
conforme à la législation italienne et de l'Union Européenne. L'ABI représente également le
système financier et de crédit italien dans tous les forums internationaux, et notamment, en vue
de l'engagement constant et de l'entière compétence apportés, auprès de la Fédération
Hypothécaire Européenne et de la Fédération Bancaire Européenne. À compter de juillet 2013,

Founded in 1901, UNIONCAMERE (Italian Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry,
Handicrafts and Agriculture) is a public institution whose task is to represent the general
interests of Italian Chambers of Commerce in respect of all institutional stakeholders at local,
regional, national and international levels, including business organizations, consumers and
workers. Moreover Unioncamere formulates common orientations, promotes and carries out
joint initiatives, and supports the activities carried out by the Chambers system and all its bodies,
with a view to favouring its development as a network at European and global level.
Unioncamere’s status and position are governed by Law n.580/93 and several other regulations
that reformed the system of the Chambers of Commerce.

R.E TE. Imprese Italia is the coordinating body of the five main Italian Organizations that
represent SMEs: Casartigiani, CNA, Confartigianato Imprese, Confcommercio - Imprese per
l’Italia and Confesercenti. These Organizations represent enterprises operating in the sectors
of craftsmanship, commerce, tourism and market’s services, together with small manufacturing
and construction enterprises. R.E TE. Imprese Italia aims at promoting the consolidation of
micro, small and medium enterprises as fundamental components of the economic system and
civil society, as well as supporting their role of institutional and private interaction at all levels.
The acronym R.E TE. (Representation AND Territory) encodes the very essence of the crucial
role played by the founding Organizations, focusing the attention both on the requests coming
from the territory and on the representing function within the institutional headquarters.
R.E TE. Imprese Italia est l’organisme de coordination qui regroupeles cinq principales
organisations italiennes qui représentent des micro, des petites et des moyennes entreprises:

Confesercenti. Ces organisations représentent des entreprises du commerce, du tourisme, des
services, de l’artisanat et des petites entreprises manufacturières et de construction. Les

L’Alleanza delle Cooperative Italiane (The Italian Cooperative Alliance) represents the
country’s most representative Cooperative Associations: AGCI, Confcooperative and Legacoop. It
has more than 43,000 associated enterprises, represents more than 90% of the Italian
cooperative movement with 1,200,000 people employed, €140 billion euro aggregated turnover,
and more than 12 billion members. Italian cooperatives are socioeconomically speaking inclusive
businesses in fact, 52% of the employed people are women and 22% are emigrants. The Italian
Cooperative Alliance likes to point out that during the five-year crisis; employment in cooperatives
has increased of 8% despite upcoming difficulties. The Alliance represents:

· 34% of retail distribution and consumption;
· 35 billion of Made in Italy Agro food production

Avec 43.000 entreprises associées, elle représente plus que 90% du mouvement
coopératif italien pur ce qui relevé des emplois (1.200.000), chiffre d’affaires (140 milliards
d’euros) et membres (plus que 12 millions) Le poids économique de la coopération italienne
s’élevé à environ 8% du produit brut national, chiffre à laquelle il faut ajouter l’activité des
banques de crédit coopératif (157 milliard d’euro) Les coopératives italienne sont un’ entité
capable de grande inclusion socio-économique, puisque le 52.8% des travailleurs sont des
femmes et le 22% des immigrés L’Alleanza souhaite par ailleurs souligner que pendant la période
2008-2012 de crise financière, le taux d’occupation a augmenté du 8%. l’Alleanza représent

Established in 1981, Conferenza delle Regioni e delle Province autonome (Conference of the
Regions and the autonomous Provinces) is a political coordination organism involving the
Presidents of Italian regional governments: its activity fosters coordinated action based on
mutual solidarity among the Regions. It defines and promotes positions on themes of common
interest and it is called to draw up develop documents and make proposals to be presented to
the Government and to the Parliament as well as to the other State’s organisms and to EU
Institutions. The Conference adopts “Opinions” related to the Government proposals impacting
the Regions; it drafts the groundwork for Understandings and Agreements to be adopted in the
appropriate institutional venues (the State- Regions Conference and the Unified Conference).
Fondée en 1981, la Conferenza delle Regioni e delle Province autonome est un organisme de
coordination politique parmi les Présidents des Régions: son activité permet une action
coordonnée et solidaire parmi les Régions. La Conférence des Régions et des Provinces
autonomes définit et promeut positions sur themes d’intéret commun et est appelée à élaborer
documents et propositions à présenter au Gouvernment et au Parlement et aux autres
organismes centraux de l’Etat et aux Institutions Européennes. La Conférence formule des
Avis sur les mesures proposées par le Gouvernment qui concernent les Régions, élabore les
bases pour les protocoles d’Entente ou pour les Accords que les Présidents formaliseront dans
les lieux de concertation institutionnelle. L’activité de la Conférence permet aussi la liaison
avec les Autonomies locales à niveau national. Sont membres de la Conférence tous les
Présidents des Régions. Le Président de la Conférence est Sergio Chiamparino (Président de

Federalimentare is the Italian Food & Drink Industry Federation established in 1983. With its
16association branches, Federalimentare represents and protects any single segment of the
Italian Food Industry, which is the second ranked Italian manufacturing sector (after
engineering), with a market share of 13% and an export quota of 20% of its turnover. The
Federation is member of Confindustria and FoodDrink Europe. The mission of the Federation is
designed to achieve and promote conditions that strengthen the competitiveness of the Italian
Food Industry both domestically and on the international markets, becoming the interpreter of
its key values such as the quality and the safety of the products, the reliability of the entire
supply chain, the transparency in the production process as well as the communication skills
and entrepreneurial excellence. The sector successfully experiences the most advanced
technology while respecting tradition. Federalimentare is taking part to EXPO 2015 avec its

Federalimentare est la Fédération Italienne de l’Industrie Alimentaire et des Boissons fondée
en 1983. Avec ses 16 Associations, Federalimentare représente et protège tous les segments
de celle qu’est la deuxième industrie manufacturière italienne (après la mécanique), avec une
part de marché de 13%. La Fédération est membre de Confindustria et de FoodDrink Europe.
La mission de Federalimentare est de promouvoir des conditions qui renforcent la compétitivité
des entreprises alimentaires soit au niveau nationale, soit sur les marchés internationaux,
exprimant les valeurs clés qui sont le signe de l'Industrie Alimentaire italienne: la qualité et la
sécurité des produits, la fiabilité de la chaîne d'approvisionnement, la transparence dans les

The leaf BIO is a European brand that characterizes the agro-food products made according to European
regulations in force. Until a few years ago the brand BIO could be attributed only to foods, since 2010, the
Commission also recognized wines produced with these characteristics.
The main regulations of reference for food are the Regulations EU 834/07 and EU 889/08 (relating to
Biological Agriculture) and EU Regulation 271/10 (which defines the use of the new European logo and
modifies certain labeling rules) and the EU Regulation 203/2012 for organic wine.

Unindustria Treviso is an industrialists’ Association that represents the industrial and service sector companies
present in Treviso, one of the most dynamic, developed provinces in Italy. Unindustria Treviso was founded in
1945, and it is now one of Italy’s leading industrialists’ associations with over 2400 members. It is part of
Confindustria, the National Association of Italian Entrepreneurs. The member companies are mainly small and
medium size enterprises, but still highly specialized, innovative companies, representing different sectors.
Almost all of the hi-tech and design-related industrial sectors and supporting service companies are
represented by Unindustria Treviso.
Unindustria Treviso est l’Association entrepreneuriale qui représente les entreprises industrielles et de
services inhérents à l’industrie de la Province de Trévise. Unindustria Treviso a été fondée en 1945 et figure
désormais parmi les associations entrepreneuriales italiennes les plus importantes. Elle compte plus de 2400
associés et fait partie de Confindustria, l’Association Nationale des Entrepreneurs Italiens. Les entreprises
associées sont, pour la plupart, des PME, hautement spécialisées et novatrices. Quasiment tous les secteurs
industriels, à haut niveau en matière de technologie et de design, et les entreprises de service qui les
supportent, sont représentés par Unindustria Treviso.
