OPÉRATION «NUDITÉ» DANS LE
PARC DE LA GATINEAU
OPERATION “NUDE” IN THE
GATINEAU PARK
Voici le bilan de l’opération policière qui s’est
déroulée le 19 et 20 juillet dernier dans le
secteur du lac Meech et du sentier 36 du parc
de la Gatineau concernant la nudité et les actes
indécents. Un total de trois (3) arrestations
furent effectuées.
The following is the recap of the police operation
that took place on July 19 and 20 in the Meech
Lake area and Trail 36 of the Gatineau Park
regarding nudity and indecent acts A total of
three (3) individuals were arrested.
Jeudi, le 19 juillet : un homme de 68 ans,
d’Ottawa fut arrêté près des ruines Carbide.
Celui-ci devrait être accusé de nudité et devra
comparaître à une date ultérieure.
Thursday, July 19: a 68 year old Ottawa man
was arrested near the Carbide Ruins. He
should be charged with nudity and will appear in
Court at a later date.
Vendredi, le 20 juillet : une femme d’Ottawa,
âgée dans la quarantaine, fut arrêtée pour
nudité sur une plage près du sentier 36. Elle
était accompagnée de son conjoint qui, lui, ne
fut pas arrêté. Lors de cette intervention, la
dame mentionne aux policiers qu’un homme
venait tout juste de se masturber devant eux,
pour ensuite quitter en canot. Du ratissage fut
effectué et le suspect fut localisé sur le chemin
du lac Meech, où il fut arrêté. Il s’agit d’un
homme de 54 ans de La Pêche. Celui-ci devrait
être accusé d’action indécente. Dans son cas,
l’enquête se poursuit afin de déterminer s’il n’est
pas relié à d’autres dossiers similaires.
Friday, July 20: an Ottawa woman, in her
forties, was arrested for nudity on a beach near
Trail 36. She was accompanied by her spouse,
who was not arrested. At the time of the
incident, the woman told police officers that a
man had just masturbated in front of them, and
then left in a canoe. A sweep of the area was
conducted and the suspect was located on
Meech Lake Road, where he was arrested. He
is a 54 year man from La Pêche. He should be
facing a charge of indecent act. In this instance,
the investigation is ongoing in order to determine
if he is not connected to other similar cases.
Lors de cette opération, une demi-douzaine de
policiers y ont participé ainsi que des agents de
la CCN et de la GRC. Des véhicules tout-terrain
furent aussi utilisés afin d’accentuer la rapidité
d’intervention des policiers.
Half a dozen police officers, as well as officers
from the NCC and RCMP, were involved in this
operation. ATV’S were also used in order to
ensure quick response by the officers.
